Imphal: Foreign entities undoubtedly assisted the Kuki militants’ drone assaults in Manipur. The Manipur police have gathered enough evidence to connect foreign forces to the current wave of rocket assaults by Kuki terrorists against security forces and Meitei villagers. Thus, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) will take over the probe into the terrorist groups’ lethal drone assaults, which are the first of their type in the region.
Inspector General of Police (Operations) I.K. Muivah has verified the involvement of foreign elements in the drone bombing occurrences in Manipur. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) would probably receive the probe from the Manipur Police for a thorough review. According to Muivah, “We are collecting a variety of evidence, including drone fragments that were recovered from the scene.” The forensic lab has been tasked with analysing the substances utilised in the devices. He emphasised the case’s high significance and described it as very serious.
Teams from forensics are examining the evidence, which includes the blast locations and any surviving fragments. “We would probably turn over the inquiry to the NIA given the seriousness of the matter. In order to guarantee that the case is looked into as thoroughly as possible, this step is crucial, Muivah continued.
Eleven student demonstrators were brought to the Raj Bhawan to speak with the governor when their protest descended into violence. Central and state forces accompanied them. The injured pupils are presently receiving treatment at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Imphal after being taken there right away.
