Post the abrogation of article 370, there were demands to hold elections in the state. It was recently that the Chief Election Commissioner had announced the dates for the Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

The elections would be conducted in three phases. Polls will be held in Jammu and Kashmir on September 18, 25 and October 1, 2024.  The result for the assembly polls would be declared on October 4, 2024.
