In a deeply disturbing case emerging from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, two Muslim men have been accused of concealing their religious identities to trap and sexually assault two Hindu women. The incidents, which took place in the Khoda and Crossing Republic areas, have sent shockwaves through the community. In one particularly harrowing case, a young woman has alleged that a man initially introduced to her as “Akshay,” not only raped her but also subjected her to extreme physical abuse and coerced her to convert to Islam. In the second case Sameer pretending to be a Hindu exploited the woman.

Deception, Rape and Torture

The victim, identified as Mansi Agarwal (name changed to protect her identity), originally hails from Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh. In a detailed complaint filed with the police, Mansi recounted how her life took a devastating turn after she met Akshay through Facebook in July 2015. At the time, she was a college student in Lucknow. Akshay, who presented himself as a final-year B.Tech student, convinced her of his Hindu identity by wearing a kalava and regularly visiting temples.

As their relationship deepened, Akshay expressed his desire to marry Mansi, who, trusting his intentions, agreed. However, the situation took a sinister turn when Akshay invited her to a hotel in Lucknow under the guise of a celebration. It was there that he raped her, falsely promising marriage. Following this, Akshay arranged for Mansi to work at a school named Safa Public School, which she later discovered to be a Muslim institution.

A Nightmare of Exploitation

Mansi’s ordeal did not end there. She alleged that Akshay, while under the influence of drugs such as LSD, cocaine, and chemical coke, repeatedly sexually exploited her. His abuse extended to forcing her into unnatural sexual acts, leaving her traumatised. Mansi also revealed that whenever she became pregnant, Akshay would secretly mix contraceptives into her food or drinks, leading to painful miscarriages. The physical and emotional toll of these experiences was devastating.

In February 2016, Akshay brought Mansi to Delhi and rented a flat in the Crossing Republic area of Ghaziabad. There, the abuse continued unabated. In one particularly cruel incident, Akshay reportedly purchased a vibrator and forcibly used it on Mansi, inflicting further physical and psychological harm.

Akshay’s true Identity

For years, Mansi pleaded with Akshay to marry her, but he consistently evaded the topic. When she finally refused to continue the sexual relationship, Akshay retaliated by threatening to share explicit photos and videos of her on social media, coercing her into compliance.

The situation took a dramatic turn in 2018 when Akshay’s mother and sister visited Ghaziabad. Introduced as Hemlata and Kanchan, respectively, their behaviour and lifestyle struck Mansi as unusual. It was during this visit that Mansi uncovered the horrifying truth: the man she knew as Akshay was actually named Mohammed Faizan. His mother and sister, Shagufta Parveen and Fauzia, were fully aware of his deceit.

Pressure to convert and marry

According to the complaint filed with the police, when Mansi confronted Faizan’s mother and sister about his actions, they urged her to convert to Islam if she wanted to marry him. They reportedly told her, “If you want to marry Faizan, you must become a Muslim and adopt Islam. In our religion, four marriages are allowed. You can live as one of his wives.”

Legal Action

The revelations in this case have sparked outrage, with many calling for swift legal action against the accused. The police have registered a case and are investigating the allegations. Mansi’s case highlights the broader issue of religious deception and the extreme vulnerability of women in such situations.

Second case

In the Khoda area of Ghaziabad, a young woman has alleged that her neighbour, Sameer, deceived her by pretending to be a Hindu. Sameer, who hails from Jamia Nagar, Okhla, reportedly presented himself as a Hindu by wearing a tilak on his forehead and a kalava on his wrist. The two began communicating in February 2024.

The woman recounted that on March 15, while she was home alone, Sameer visited under the guise of asking for water and then raped her. When she resisted, he calmed her down with promises of marriage. Later that month, he took her to court and coerced her into signing marriage papers. It was only then that she discovered Sameer was, in fact, a Muslim. When she objected, Sameer resorted to blackmail, insisting on marriage.

In July, Sameer allegedly took her to Mumbai, where he kept her at an undisclosed location and continued to sexually assault her. During this time, he also attempted to convert her to Islam. Despite the situation, she managed to contact her father, who came to Mumbai and rescued her. After she filed a complaint, the police arrested Sameer.
