Patna: Amidst the ongoing massive protest over brutal rape and murder of a medical intern in RG Kar medical college, Kolkata which has unified the nation in seeking justice for the victim woman, an incident involving barbaric atrocity of similar intensity against a Dalit girl has emerged from Muzaffarpur of Bihar.

The incident which unfolded in Gopalpur village under the Paru police station limits of Muzaffarpur on the intervening night of August 11-12 relates to abduction and brutal killing of a minor girl of the Dalit community by the accused known to her.

According to the information received, the accused Sanjay Rai (41), a resident of the same village has been pressurizing the victim girl for marriage. The deceased girl who was a student of class 9th reportedly refused to comply with the demand of Rai who has already been married and a father of two.

Fumed by the rejection Sanjay along with his four other accomplices barged into the house of the victim girl on the intervening night of August 11-12 and abducted her forcibly. Shocked by the incident, the family members of the victim tried everything possible to save the girl only to be overpowered by Sanjay and other accused who soon fled the scene after the abduction.

Upon hearing the cries of the family members, the other villagers soon gathered on the spot and subsequently began a manhunt to recover the girl, however their efforts met no end till the break of the dawn when the girl’s body was found floating in a pond on the outskirt of village.

The girl mutilated body was then recovered from the said location which eventually led to the discovery of brutality committed by the accused with the victim. Its been reported that the girl was mercilessly tortured and raped before the accused finally get rid of her by killing her brutally.

According to the details floating in the media, the body of the victim girl had severe injury marks while her breasts were also chopped off reportedly. Its been further reported that the girl private part was stabbed with a sharp edged weapon for around 50 times. The incident underscores the barbaric mentality of the accused who overcame all the limitation of barbarism in torturing the victim and killing her eventually to fulfill his lust of revenge.

On Friday, August 16 the police pasted a notice on the house of Sanjay linked to attachment/confiscation of his movable and immovable properties if the latter failed to surrender before police or the magistrate, efforts are on to nab the accused, informed police in an official statement released on late Friday evening.
