Kerala’s SC-ST Community Thanks PM Modi for No to Creamy Layer in Reservations

Shajumon Vattekkat expressed gratitude on behalf of the SC-ST communities, noting that this assurance has alleviated the anxiety caused by misinformation spread by certain political parties and organizations. These groups, including the CPM and Congress, had been falsely suggesting that the Union Government was planning to weaken SC-ST reservations, aiming to create division and conflict within the communities.

Members of the SC-ST communities in Kerala, like those across the country, have found reassurance in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent statement opposing the introduction of a Creamy Layer within SC-ST reservations. BJP SC-ST Morcha state president, Shajumon Vattekkat, welcomed this stance, emphasizing the relief it brings to the communities.

BJP parliamentarians from SC-ST backgrounds recently met with Prime Minister Modi to discuss the Supreme Court’s observations regarding the implementation of a Creamy Layer within SC-ST reservations. The Prime Minister assured them that his government does not support this move.

Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, stated on X that “ BJP’s SC/ST MPs met Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi  Ji on reservation issue. PM reiterated his commitment and resolve for the welfare and empowerment of the SC/ST communities.”

The Prime Minister’s statement, Shajumon noted, is a strong rebuttal to these false claims and exposes the anti-SC/ST policies of the Left and Congress.

Shajumon also thanked Prime Minister Modi for his commitment to protecting the rights of SC-ST communities in Kerala. He reiterated that the RSS, BJP, and other Sangh-inspired organizations have always supported the continuation of SC-ST reservations in their current form, recognizing the historical and cultural significance behind them.
