Ghaziabad: A Hindu family residing in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, has been allegedly being forced to convert to Islam and they are being issued death threats also. The family, the only Hindu household in the area, have reported severe harassment and violence at the hands of their neighbours, leading to fear and uncertainty.

The incident came to light when the family lodged a formal complaint against an individual named Yasin, his sons, and several other members of the local Islamist community. According to the victim’s family, the aggressors have not only issued death threats but are also engaged in physical violence.

In a particularly harrowing episode, the Islamists allegedly tore the clothes of the their daughter and physically assaulted the female members of the household. The situation escalated further when the group reportedly abducted the daughter and took her to a nearby railway track. There, they threatened to kill her unless she agreed to convert to Islam.

Despite filing a complaint with the police, the victim’s family has expressed dissatisfaction with the authorities’ response. They claim that proper actions have not been taken against the perpetrators, leaving them vulnerable to further threats and violence. The family has repeatedly sought police intervention but feels that their pleas are being ignored.

The head of the victim’s family stated, “We live in constant fear for our lives. The police are not taking our concerns seriously, and we feel completely unprotected. We only want to live in peace and practice our faith without fear of persecution.”

The incident has sparked outrage among local Hindu communities and human rights activists, who are calling for swift and decisive action to protect the family and ensure their safety. They are also urging the authorities to hold the perpetrators accountable for their actions to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.

Meanwhile, the Assistant Commissioner of Police of Loni, Suryabali Maurya said that the matter is being probed as necessary steps will be taken after detailed investigation is done.
