The Swadeshi Jagaran Manch (SJM) held its largest-ever National Council meeting from June 28 to June 30, bringing together 340 participants, including a record 47 women, to discuss the future direction and strategies of the organisation. This landmark meeting was graced with the presence and guidance of Honorable V. Bhagayya, the former Joint General Secretary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and current National Executive Member.
The meeting saw significant participation not only from SJM members but also from workers associated with the Self-Reliant India Campaign. Various organisations were represented, including Laghu Udyog Bharati, Akhil Bharatiya Grahak Panchayat, Sahakar Bharati, Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Hindu Jagaran Manch, Environmental Activity, and Akshay Krishi Parivar. Additionally, the IID, Vakrangee Group, and Gayatri Parivar also took part in the proceedings.
The National Council unanimously decided to focus future programs and activities on three core subjects: Swadeshi (Indigenous), Self-Reliance, and Research. Two significant proposals were presented and passed unanimously:
1. Impact of Population on the Economy
2. Prosperous and Great India by 2047
The meeting covered various core topics essential to both the Swadeshi Jagaran Manch and the Self-Reliant India Campaign. Discussions included:
- Engaging Indians Worldwide in National Development (Brain Gain)
- The Organic Path of Entrepreneurship
- The Panch Transformation
The council also prepared plans for upcoming activities, which include:
- Ideation and Training Classes
- All-India Officer Visits
- Entrepreneurship Promotion Conferences
- Widespread Public Awareness for Organic Entrepreneurship
- Organising Swadeshi Fairs
A notable highlight of the meeting was the divine and grand sight of Lord Ramlala in Ayodhya Dham, which filled all participants with renewed energy and inspiration. This visit was a source of great motivation as attendees departed to their respective destinations.
Following the National Council meeting, a three-day training session for full-time workers was held in Ayodhya Dham, with 39 full-time workers participating. This session aimed to further equip and inspire the workers for their roles in the organisation.
Vision for Bharat @2047: A Comprehensive Development Plan
As part of the broader national vision, “Bharat @2047: Prosperous and Great Bharat” outlines a comprehensive and inclusive development plan for India, addressing economic, social, technological, environmental, and ethical dimensions. To realise this ambitious vision, collaboration among the government, private sector, civil society, and every citizen is essential. Full Employment Era in Bharat
- Goal: Achieve nearly full employment by 2047.
- Strategies: Implement innovative policies and strategic investments to foster employment opportunities across emerging sectors such as renewable energy, biotechnology, and advanced manufacturing. Initiatives like Skill India, Start Up India, and Make in India aim to equip the workforce with relevant skills and foster entrepreneurial spirit.
- Challenges: Addressing skill mismatches, promoting a shift from job seekers to job providers, increasing female participation and equal employment opportunities, and creating migration-neutral employment. The working group will develop scenarios for 2047 to tackle these challenges.
Youth and Dynamic Demography
- Opportunity: Leverage the demographic dividend until 2055 to boost economic growth.
- Projections: Add 183 million people to the working-age group between 2020 and 2050, potentially increasing GDP growth significantly.
- Priorities: Focus on sustained investments in education and health, and policies that promote labor force participation. The working group will address demographic policies, capacity building in skills, education, and health, and strategies to utilise the population’s potential effectively.
Global Economic Power
- Historical Context: Once a significant contributor to global wealth, Bharat aims to reclaim its status as an economic powerhouse.
- Vision: Achieve a GDP surpassing 10 trillion dollar by 2047, positioning Bharat among the top three economies worldwide.
- Strategies: Promote sustained growth in sectors like digital services, AI, sustainable agriculture, healthcare, space technology, and energy. The working group will focus on boosting R&D, manufacturing, and attracting investments.
Impenetrable Security System
- Goal: Maintain a formidable security apparatus encompassing advanced defence technologies, strategic alliances, and comprehensive cybersecurity measures.
- Strategies: Invest in defence modernisation, enhance national security capabilities, and reinforce regional stability and international peacekeeping missions.
- Comprehensive Approach: Balance military strength with economic stability, societal cohesion, and strategic geopolitical positioning.
Leader in Science and Technology
- Achievements: Milestones in biotechnology, quantum computing, and space exploration.
- Vision: Lead in science and technology development, foster innovation, and attract global talent.
- Challenges: Boosting R&D, product development, and fostering innovative and futuristic technologies.
Global Brotherhood
- Engagement: Promote international cooperation, peace, and sustainable development through robust diplomatic relations and strategic partnerships.
- Philosophy: Uphold the idea of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” (The world is one family), emphasising global solidarity and humanitarian initiatives.
- Recent Example: Supplying COVID-19 vaccines to 101 countries.
