New Delhi: While praising members of Bharat Vikas Parishad for their contribution in fulfilling Bharat’s development goal, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highway Nitin Gadkari said everyone dreams to make the country a world leader by developing it and to make Bharat happy, prosperous and free from terror and fear.

Remembering great men which Bharat has produced like Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, Ram Manohar Lohia, Swami Vivekananda, and Gautam Buddha, Nitin Gadkari emphasised the importance of our cultural similarities, which will help us in becoming a great country in the times to come.

Union Minister of Road Transport and Highway Nitin Gadkari said the practice of social human exploitation ended in Bharat with the introduction of e-rickshaw.

While presiding over the programme, National President of Bharat Vikas Parishad and former Supreme Court Judge Adarsh Kumar Goel said, “We should not see development from the perspective of wealth creation. The need of the hour is to understand Bharatiya culture and its values, so that our society gets enriched.”

The Bharat Vikas Parishad was established in 1963 with the aim of all-round development of Indian society. It is a national, apolitical, social, cultural and selfless organisation of enlightened, affluent and influential persons of society. It serves the deprived, incapable and uneducated sections of society and inculcates the values of patriotism, selfless service in the new generation, which is constantly active in the great work of nation building. At present, more than 1,600 branches and more than 84,000 members are engaged in national service through Parivar Parishad in all the states of the country.

Under Seva Pakhwada organised between the birthday of the late Dr Suraj Prakash (June 27) and the Foundation Day of Bharat Vikas Parishad (July 10), various branches of the Parishad across the country organised programmes related to blood donation camps, sewing machine distribution, divyang sahayata camps, anemia and malnutrition free campaigns, distribution of books, uniforms, scholarships to needy students, environment-related water conservation, organic fertiliser, pollution free awareness campaigns and tree planting campaigns.

Bharat Vikas Parishad National Project Chairman Karnal Singh gave the vote of thanks. More than 1,000 enlightened industrialists and businessmen, social workers, teachers from universities, doctors, advocates from Delhi and nearby areas attended the Foundation Day programme. Their presence and active participation was crucial in making the event a success, and their guidance from eminent speakers will enhance the work of the Parishad with new energy.
