In the first Cabinet meeting, held a day after the swearing-in ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan, senior BJP leaders were entrusted with key ministries. Amit Shah retained the Home Affairs portfolio, while Rajnath Singh continued as Defence Minister. S. Jaishankar was reappointed as External Affairs Minister, and Nitin Gadkari remained in charge of Road Transport. Nirmala Sitharaman continued as Finance Minister, ensuring stability in critical sectors.

Notably, first-time MP and four-time Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, was appointed as the Union Agriculture Minister, a significant move amid the government’s focus on agrarian issues. BJP President JP Nadda was named Union Health Minister, reflecting his leadership within the party.
