A 15-year-old girl was apprehended by the police in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, for the brutal murder of her father, Rajkumar Vishwakarma (52), a railway official, and her 8-year-old brother. The chilling incident occurred on March 15, 2024. The girl, along with her 21-year-old boyfriend Mukul, had been on the run for about six months. Mukul had escaped from jail just days before the murder, where he was held on rape charges.
The murder was particularly gruesome, with the girl using a heavy weapon to hit her father’s head ten times, causing every bone in his skull to break. Her brother’s skull was shattered in one blow. The blood-soaked bodies were then wrapped in a sheet and left in the house, with the brother’s body placed in the fridge.
Following the murder, the girl sent a voice note to her aunt in Bhopal, claiming that Mukul was responsible for the killings. This message was forwarded to the RPF, who discovered the bodies.
The couple fled the scene and remained on the run for 75 days, during which time they were traced to locations across India, including Mumbai, Pune, Karnataka, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Punjab, and Bihar. They managed to evade capture multiple times, even turning on their phone near the Nepal border to create the illusion that they had fled the country.
The police distributed approximately 10,000 posters across the country and Nepal in an effort to capture them. They also sought assistance from Deputy Commissioners of Police nationwide. The couple was eventually identified and apprehended in Haridwar, where they had been living in separate ashrams and a hospital camp.
Mukul was caught after a hospital visitor recognised them from a police poster and alerted the authorities. He managed to escape from the police, but surrendered the following day. The girl was taken into custody.
This case highlights the tragic consequences of a young girl’s relationship with an older man, who had a criminal record and was able to manipulate her into committing such a heinous crime.
