A female Maoist carrying a bounty of Rs5 lakh on her head has been nabbed by the security forces in Maoist-hit Sukma district of Chhattisgarh on May 28.
Barse Muye (35), member of the Mangloor area committee and in-charge of medical team of Darbha divison of the banned CPI Maoist was arrested by a joint team of Ditrict Reserve Guard (DRG), Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) and district police.
The arrest was made during a search operation launched by the forces in Keralapaal police station limits of Sukma district on Tuesday. The joint team have also recovered daily use materials from the possession of the accused.
Barse, a resident of Potali village under Aranpur police station limits of Dantewada had joined the Maoist outfit around 5-6 year ago and a reward was announced on her by the state government.
Muye was nabbed amidst the security forces in a separate operation nabbed as many as 15 Maoists from the Giraspara area of Dantewada on Tuesday itself. All those who were nabbed by the forces were reported to be associated with different frontal organisations of the outlawed Maoist outfit.
Notably, the incumbent state government has instructed to amplify operations in the Maoist stronghold of Bastar in recent times which has resulted in arrests and surrender of hundreds of member of the banned outfit in the last few months alone.
The surge in operations in the remote areas of the state have been noticed after the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah during the ongoing Lok Sabha campaign has repeatedly emphasized that the union government under Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has taken decisive steps towards uprooting the Maoist insurgency and the same will be eradicated from the country in the next few years.
The Home Minister has further remarked that most of the states earlier infested by the Maoist insurgency in the country is now free from the menace of Maoism and now it is only confined to 3-4 districts of Chhattisgarh where the issue still remains in existence.
