Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today said that over 1.25 crore Bangladeshis intruders entered Assam in the last 40 years. CM Sarma, while interacting with the media in Jharkhand, said that in the last 40 years, about 1 crore 25 lakh Bangladeshis have infiltrated into Assam and the indigenous people of Assam have almost lost their identity .
Replying to a question in the press meeting in Ranchi, CM Sarma said that the infiltration started 40 years ago during the congress regime. But the Congress government then couldn’t stop it due to various political reasons or they couldn’t imagine the danger of it. Now for the BJP led government, it is almost impossible to alter the situation, the CM admitted. He further said that there were 40 MLAs of migrant Muslims in Assam assembly. Not only that they became ministers, assembly speakers, magistrates, deputy commissioners, and what not. Now it can’t be stopped, now we can only fight back.

He further said that Jharkhand must get alert and it shouldn’t go into such a situation. Being the CM of a victim state, I would like to say that this is not a political issue, it is not about BJP, Congress or JMM, rather it is the matter of the future of Jharkhand
. It is the duty of the law enforcement agencies in the state to throw back all intruders from the state. This is like cancer. If you don’t do camo therapy right now, later it will be too late. CM Sarma also said that what we should have done 40 years ago we couldn’t do. We didn’t have Narendra Modi at that time. But fortunately, Jharkhand has PM Modi with them. So the illegal migration has to stop now in the state. Otherwise, after 20 years what is happening in one district now will spread to the entire state, CM Sarma pointed out. He further added, be ready to fight infiltrators if it does not want to suffer the fate of Assam or Bengal.
