A dramatic turn of events unfolded in the case surrounding the firing incident outside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s house, as one of the accused, Anuj Thapan, tragically ended his life in police custody. Thapan, aged 32, reportedly attempted suicide while in police custody and subsequently succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at Mumbai’s GT Hospital

Thapan, who was accused of supplying weapons to the shooters involved in the firing incident, reportedly attempted to end his life while in police custody. He was swiftly rushed to Mumbai’s GT Hospital, where medical personnel battled to save his life. However, despite their efforts, Thapan’s condition remained critical, ultimately resulting in his demise.

The incident that led to Thapan’s arrest occurred on April 14, when two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle fired four rounds outside Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai’s Bandra area. Fortunately, Khan was present at home during the incident, although the motive behind the shooting remains unclear.

Following the shooting, the Mumbai Police launched a thorough investigation, leading to the detention of the two shooters, Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, in Gujarat’s Bhuj. Subsequently, Thapan and another accused, Sonu Subhash Chander, were apprehended by the authorities on April 25.

The Mumbai Police invoked the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against all individuals arrested in connection with the case, highlighting the severity of the charges.
