VHP submits a memorandum to the Home secretary in the murder of Vikas Prabhakar

A high-level VHP delegation comprising the Int’l President and Sr. Advocate Shri Alok Kumar, Secretary General Bajrang Bagra, Joint General Secretary Dr Surendra Jain, and Punjab Prant working president Harpreet Singh Gill meet the Union Home Secretary today, in North Block New Delhi to demand an NIA probe into the killing of the VHP leader Shri Vikas Prabhakar in Nangal (Punjab) this month.

Vikas Prabhakar, President of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Nangal City, Punjab, was shot dead, in broad daylight, in a crowded market on April 13, 2024, by two people while sitting at his shop. The Punjab Police claimed to have arrested both assailants on April 16.

Gaurav Yadav, DGP, Punjab, had also issued a public statement on the investigations in the matter. The following points, in his statement are important:
(i) On the basis of scientific investigation, the assailants identified as Mandeep Kumar @ Mangi & Surinder Kumar @ Rikka have been arrested today, along with 2 weapons of 32 bore pistols, 16 live cartridges, 01 empty used cartridges, and a TVS Jupiter scooter used in the crime.

(ii) The murder is part of a terror module backed by Pakistan based terrorist masterminds
(iii) From the preliminary investigations, it has been revealed that this is a terror module, operated and funded by Foreign-based handlers operating from Portugal and other places.
(iv) The two assailants are only “the foot soldiers of these foreign-based entities who are the operatives of Pak-based terrorist masterminds.
(v) The two assailants committed the murder for the lure of money

According to press reports, ‘Babbar Khalsa’ has taken responsibility of the murder. There have been several incidents in the past in which Hindu leaders have been murdered in Punjab. There have been many incidents of attacks on temples also.

VHP believes that such terrorist incidents are being carried out to create disharmony between Hindu and Sikh community and also to create fear in the Hindu society living in Punjab. Thus, it is an international conspiracy, originating in, receiving funds, directions and strategy from Pakistan. In the present case, the instructions to the assailants came from Portugal.

VHP is of the view that the murder of Vikas Prabhakar and all the other murders are interconnected. If the depth of Vikas’s murder is properly investigated, all these conspiratorial forces can be exposed, and the conspiracies to spoil the environment of a sensitive province like Punjab can be freed.

Therefore, VHP demanded that the murder of Vikas Prabhakar be investigated by the National Investigation Agency so that this act of terrorism challenging the sovereignty of India emanating from Pakistan and other foreign lands is fully and competently probed and demolished.
