Congress Councillor Niranjan Hiremath has rebuked his own Congress party and has said that despite openly naming eight people who are involved in the murder of his daughter Neha, no action has been taken. He has called for a CBI probe in the brutal killing of his daughter, Neha, by Fayaz

Speaking to news agency ANI, Niranjan Hiremath said that time was running out and he was disappointed that no concrete action was being taken to nab the culprits. Hiremath, said, “I am losing faith now. They are trying to divert my case.” He went on to demand a thorough investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), alleging that the current commissioner is not taking his daughter’s murder seriously and is possibly influenced by external pressures. Hiremath called for the commissioner’s transfer for negligence in handling the case and reiterated his plea for a CBI inquiry.

Tragedy struck the KLE Technological University in Karnataka as Neha Hiremath, a 21-year-old first-year MCA student and the daughter of Hubballi Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) councillor and Congress leader Niranjan Hiremath, was brutally stabbed to death on Thursday, April 18, in her neck. The perpetrator of this heinous act was identified as her classmate Fayaz, a resident of Savadatti in Belagavi district.

According to the police, CCTV footage captured the chilling moment when Fayaz mercilessly stabbed Neha multiple times before fleeing the scene. The motive behind the attack was revealed to be Fayaz’s persistent harassment of Neha, despite her repeated rejections of his advances.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi came down heavily on the Congress-led Karnataka government for making frivolous comments on the killing of Neha in broad daylight on the college campus.

He lamented at the Congress party for diluting the issue and promoting wrong kind of idelogy and thought.

Supporting Hiremath’s demand for a CBI probe, BJP National President JP Nadda visited the councillor’s residence on Sunday and echoed his concerns. Nadda criticised the Karnataka government, accusing it of attempting to influence the investigation to dilute the case. He emphasised that the people of Karnataka would not tolerate appeasement politics and called on the state government to hand over the case to the CBI if the State Police was incapable of conducting a fair probe.

“Their statements dilute the investigation,” Nadda asserted, referring to Hiremath’s allegations against the Karnataka government. He highlighted Hiremath’s lack of faith in the state police and reiterated the demand for a CBI inquiry into the incident.

Earlier, Neha’s sister lashed out at Muslms and at the system and said, “Neha will not get justice, Congress Govt will cover up this issue once the election gets over!”

ABVP demanded that the on-campus safety of girls should be the prime concern in an educational institution, the accused Fayaz must be put to fast-track legal proceedings and the death penalty be awarded to him.

Neha’s murder had sparked outrage not only in Ksarantaka but across the country as people at large pressed for justice for the departed soul.
