Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought cheer to a massive crowd gathered in Nalbari under the Barpeta parliamentary constituency in Assam as he extended warm greetings on the auspicious occasion of Bohag Bihu. Addressing the sea of supporters, PM Modi ushered in the festivities by commemorating the holy moment of ‘Surya Tilak of Ram Lalla’ in Ayodhya. As the clock struck 12 pm, he urged the enthusiastic supporters to illuminate the sky with the flashlights of their mobile phones, symbolising the historic milestone in the nation’s spiritual journey.

The air resonated with chants of ‘Jai Shree Ram’ as PM Modi, amidst the fervent crowd, highlighted the significance of the ‘Surya Tilak’ ritual performed on Ram Lalla in Ayodhya, marking a momentous occasion, especially after the inauguration of the Ram Mandir earlier this year on 22nd January. Reflecting on his transformative leadership journey, PM Modi expressed gratitude, stating, “In 2014, Modi came among you with hope. In 2019, when Modi came, he came with trust. And in 2024, today, when Modi has come to the land of Assam, Modi has come with a guarantee. Modi’s guarantee means a guarantee of fulfilling guarantees!”

PM Modi’s assurance resonated strongly as he reiterated the nation’s belief in his commitment, with the Northeast standing as a testament to ‘Modi Ki Guarantee’. Emphasising the developmental strides made in the region under BJP governance, PM Modi juxtaposed the party’s vision of opportunity against Congress’s legacy of fostering extremism.

“Over the past decade, the BJP has turned the region from a recipient of problems to a beacon of opportunities, in stark contrast to the Congress’s legacy of fueling extremism. Congress has only fueled the extremism in this region and Modi has embraced Northeast. What Congress couldn’t do in 60 years, Modi has done in 10 years “Because Your dreams are my resolution.” The PM said. He underscored the BJP’s commitment to inclusive growth, unveiling the party’s Sankalp Patra on the occasion, reaffirming the ethos of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.”

The Sankalp Patra outlines ambitious goals, including the construction of 3 crore new houses for the poor over the next five years, ensuring equitable distribution of benefits and continued provision of free ration. PM Modi assured that government schemes, such as PM Awas, Free Ration, and Ayushman card, will be implemented without discrimination, benefitting all eligible individuals.

PM Modi’s address also highlighted the government’s dedication to farmers’ welfare, citing initiatives such as the increase in MSP for kharif crops and the significant financial assistance provided under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. He further announced the inauguration of a semiconductor facility in Assam, poised to generate over 15,000 job opportunities, underscoring the government’s commitment to maximising the region’s potential across various sectors.

Praising Assam’s rich biodiversity and cultural heritage, PM Modi pledged to elevate the state’s prominence on the global tourism map. He commended the BJP’s efforts in preserving and celebrating Assam’s cultural heritage, including initiatives like the Kamakhya corridor and the commemoration of Lachit Borphukan’s birth anniversary.

In a sharp critique of the Congress party, PM Modi highlighted its neglect of Assamese sentiments and lauded Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s dedication to the state’s development. Urging voters to support the BJP in the upcoming elections, PM Modi called for breaking previous voting records to contribute to building a developed India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address resonated with optimism and promise, reinforcing the BJP’s commitment to inclusive growth and transformative governance, as Assam celebrated Bohag Bihu in unity and fervour.
