Lok Sabha Polls 2024: PM Modi’s roadshow in Assam’s Guwahati garners massive support

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accorded a warm welcome upon his arrival in Guwahati this evening, marking his inaugural visit to address an election rally in Assam ahead of the Lok Sabha election 2024. Arriving at 7 PM from his previous rally in Raiganj, West Bengal, PM Modi embarked on a spirited road show through the capital city, drawing throngs of enthusiastic supporters lining the Guwahati-Shillong road.

Thousands of residents poured onto the streets, brandishing placards proclaiming ‘once again Modi government’ alongside the national flag, in a vibrant display of support for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Over the course of the 3-kilometre roadshow, PM Modi reciprocated the fervour, engaging with supporters and exchanging greetings along the jubilant procession. Resounding chants of “Hum Bhi Modi Ka Pariwar” (We are also Modi’s Family) echoed throughout the roadshow, underscoring the strong sense of solidarity among his thousands of supporters in the eastern part of the country.

The monumental roadshow culminated at Dispur Assembly points, marking the conclusion of a triumphant display of political fervour. PM Modi is slated to lodge at the state guest house in Koinadhora, where he will convene with prominent state leaders, including Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Tomorrow, on April 17th, PM Modi is scheduled to address a significant election rally in Nalbari, lending his support to NDA alliance candidate Phani Bhushan Chaudhury of the Barpeta parliamentary constituency.

Notably, this marks PM Narendra Modi’s 27th visit to Assam during his tenure as Prime Minister, underscoring the region’s pivotal role in the political landscape. Taking to his X handle CM Sarma wrote, “Modi-filled Guwahati… See this sea of ​​people on the eve of Ram Navami. I am confident that this time BJP will win the highest number of seats in Assam’s history.”
