The month-long internship program “NYAYA,” organised by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Allahabad University Unit, reached its culmination today at Dr. Ambedkar Bhawan (SLO building) of Allahabad High Court. The event witnessed the distribution of certificates to 35 interns who participated zealously in learning the nuances of advocacy from the state’s esteemed legal practitioners.

Under the NYAYA Internship Programme, 20 female and 15 male students delved into the intricacies of advocacy under the guidance of experienced advocates from the state. The felicitation ceremony saw the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including the Chief Guest, Praveen Kumar Giri, Additional Advocate General, Government of Uttar Pradesh, and Chief Standing Advocate Vijay Shankar Mishra, who presided over the event.

During the NYAYA Internship Program’s second session, ABVP Allahabad University Unit provided three-week and four-week internship opportunities. Out of 239 applications received nationwide, 35 exceptional students were selected to participate in this enriching experience through their CV’s. Among them, 25 students hail from colleges in Prayagraj, while the remaining 10 students represent institutions from Lucknow, Rajasthan, Kanpur, Delhi, and Bihar.

The program, spearheaded by Convenor Akhilesh Kushwaha and co-conveners Adwitiya Kumari, Navya Singh Yadav, Ananya Mishra, Anshi Pandey, and Aastha Verma, was meticulously organised. Notable legal luminaries such as Additional Advocate General Praveen Kumar Giri, Manish Goyal, Mahesh Chandra Chaturvedi, PC Srivastava, Neeraj Tripathi, Chief Standing Advocates Vijay Shankar Mishra, J.N. Maurya, Abhishek Srivastava, along with other senior advocates, provided invaluable guidance to the participating students.

Expressing his views on the program, Chief Guest Praveen Kumar Giri commended ABVP’s initiative, emphasising its potential to benefit all participants. He highlighted the importance of re-assimilating texts like Shrimad Bhagwad Geeta and Ram Charit Manas, which already encapsulate fundamental legal principles.

Presiding over the event, Chief Standing Advocate Vijay Shankar Mishra lauded the initiative as a significant opportunity for aspiring legal minds. He underscored the program’s role in simplifying internship opportunities, thereby empowering students to contribute meaningfully to India’s legal landscape.
