Just a day after a food outlet was exposed for selling beef-stuffed samosas in Gujarat’s Vadodara, a similar incident came to light at the canteen of Tata Motors located in Pune, Maharashtra. Notably, items such as condoms, stones, and tobacco were stuffed inside samosas, sparking an immediate uproar. The Pune police swiftly acted, registering a First Information Report (FIR) against five individuals involved in this disturbing act.

The accused, identified as Rahim Shaikh, Azhar Shaikh, Mazar Shaikh, Azar Shaikh, and Vicky Shaikh, reportedly carried out the crime out of frustration after their contract with the company was terminated. While one suspect has been apprehended, investigations are ongoing to ascertain the full extent of their involvement.

The incident occurred in the Pimpri Chinchwad area of Pune, as detailed by Kirtikumar Shankarrao Desai, an official from a company based in Chikhali. Desai lodged a complaint with the police on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at the Chikhli police station, alleging tampering of food supplies by SRS Enterprises, a company contracted for samosa delivery.

According to Desai’s complaint, anomalies were discovered in the samosas supplied by SRS, leading to Tata Motors severing ties with the company and awarding the contract to another firm, Manohar Enterprises. This decision reportedly infuriated Rahim Shaikh, the owner of SRS Enterprises, prompting him to conspire with his associates, Azhar Sheikh and Mazar Sheikh.

On March 27, 2024, Rahim Shaikh purportedly instructed his workers to adulterate the samosas with condoms, gutkha, and stones before distributing them between 7:30 and 9:00 in the morning.

Subsequently, upon receiving complaints from staff members, Kirtikumar filed an official report, resulting in the registration of an FIR against Rahim Shaikh, Firoz Shaikh, Vicky Shaikh, Azar Shaikh, and Mazar Shaikh under Sections 328, 120-B, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). While one suspect has been detained, efforts are underway to locate the remaining individuals involved as the investigation progresses.

In Vadodara, Gujarat, beef was found in samosas at a shop named ‘Hussaini Samosawala’ in the Chipwad area. In response, authorities promptly apprehended six individuals, namely Yusuf Shaikh, Naseem Shaikh, Hanif Bhatiara, Dilawar Pathan Moin Habdal, and Mobin Shaikh. It was discovered that the shop operated on the 5th floor of a building without a proper license, supplying raw samosas to various outlets in Vadodara for frying and resale.
