On March 26, amidst Assam’s Holi celebrations, a young girl was kidnapped, sexually assaulted, and subsequently ejected onto the streets from a vehicle in Guwahati. Inamul Ali has been singled out as the prime suspect in this heinous act, allegedly collaborating with his associates Raju Ali and Mandal Ali to drug and rape the victim.
According to reports, the perpetrators lured three girls into an Innova car from Bhagaduttapur, Kahilipara, Guwahati, under the guise of participating in Holi festivities. Subsequently, Inamul allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted a minor girl in front of his accomplices and the remaining two girls. Shockingly, the entire ordeal was recorded on their phones by Inamul’s friends. Additional reports suggest that the other two girls were complicit in the crime and also filmed the incident.
Following the atrocious act, the perpetrators left the victim near her residence in Kahilipara. Discovered in critical condition by locals, she was promptly transported to Gauhati Medical College Hospital, where she is currently undergoing treatment for both physical and emotional trauma.
A case was registered at the Bhagaduttapur Outpost in response to a complaint lodged by the victim’s family. Subsequently, the police initiated an operation leading to the apprehension of two accomplices: Raju Ali was captured in Hatigaon, while Mandal Ali was apprehended in the Azara area of the city. However, the primary suspect, Inamul Ali, remains at large. Additionally, law enforcement authorities successfully recovered the Innova car utilised in the commission of the crime.
The arrested accused have been sent to Dispur Police station and further probe is on.
