Under the pact, a Joint Working Group/Committee will be constituted to work out and implement the mutually agreed points on all the issues mentioned in the agreement in a time-bound manner. NLFT-SD Agreement (2019)
In 2019, under the auspices of Home Minister Amit Shah, the Union Home Ministry entered into a significant agreement with the Sabir Kumar Debbarma-led National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT-SD). This historic accord marked a pivotal moment as 88 activists willingly surrendered, accompanied by the relinquishment of 44 weapons during a solemn surrender ceremony. Central to the agreement was the provision of a special economic development package amounting to Rs 100 crore earmarked specifically for the upliftment and advancement of tribal regions. This landmark pact aimed not only to foster peace and stability but also to catalyse socio-economic progress in Tripura’s tribal communities, signifying a concerted effort towards reconciliation and sustainable development.
BRU Agreement (2020)
An agreement, known as the BRU Agreement, was ceremoniously signed on January 16, 2020, in the presence of the Home Minister Amit Shah. The pact involved the Union Government of India, the Government of Tripura, and the Government of Mizoram, alongside representatives of BRU migrants. This historic accord paved the way for the permanent domicile of BRU (Reang) community members in Tripura. Under the terms of the agreement, 6959 BRU families, totalling 37,136 individuals, are slated for rehabilitation in Tripura. To facilitate their resettlement, a comprehensive financial assistance package amounting to Rs 661 crore has been earmarked by the authorities. This landmark initiative signifies a concerted effort towards ensuring the welfare and integration of BRU migrants within the state of Tripura.
Bodo Accord (2020)

On April 20, 2023, a significant milestone was marked as the Chief Ministers of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh came together to sign a historic Memorandum of Understanding. The solemn occasion was graced by the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah, signifying the gravity and importance of the agreement. The MoU stands as a testament to the resolution of long-standing disputes concerning the boundaries between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, specifically addressing 123 disputed villages. Notably, this agreement represents a full and final settlement, leaving no room for future claims or contentions over any area or village. On April 27, 2023, in the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah, a tripartite agreement was signed between the Government of India, the Government of Assam and the Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) to end violence and ensure the all-round development of the Dimasa people. The representatives of the Dimasa National Liberation Army have agreed to abandon the path of violence and join the peaceful democratic process, and 168 armed cadres have abandoned violence and joined the mainstream of society as a result of this agreement.
Agreement with United National Liberation Front (UNLF) (2023)
The signing of the peace agreement between the Government of India, the Government of Manipur, and the United National Liberation Front (UNLF) marks a significant milestone in the quest for lasting peace in Manipur and the broader Northeast region.
