Kalyanak Mahotsav: “RSS has brought all the four children of Bhagwan Mahavir on one platform,” says Sunil Sagar Maharaj

"Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has been following Bhagwan Mahavir's thoughts since the beginning. The Sangh has started working to spread all the messages of Bhagwan Mahavir's life to the masses through its Shakhas." said RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat during the Kalyanak Mahotsav organised at Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi

New Delhi: The Kalyanak Mahotsav was organised at Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi, on February 12 to commemorate the 2550th Nirvana year of Bhagwan Mahavir Swami. In the programme, revered saints, sages, and sadhvis of the entire Jain community were present. While addressing the Kalyanak Mahotsav Maha Sadhvi, Animashree Ji said we heard Bhagwan Mahavir; today, we are celebrating the Nirvana festival of Bhagwan Mahavir. We have to consider what we have learned from Bhagwan Mahavir. Through the teachings of Bhagwan Mahavir, we have given so much purity to our life and soul.

Bhagwan Mahavir is an incarnation of non-violence and compassion. By searching history, no such example of Shravak Savik can be found; there is only one example of Bhagwan Mahavir. He had resolved in his mother’s womb that he would not take retirement while his parents were alive. He knew how important it is to serve one’s mother and father. Today, the mother has tears in her eyes.

Many famous personalities of the Jain community and many officials of the National and Delhi State of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh were present in the programme

There was a time when the mother used to roam around with a plate in her hand, saying, ‘My son does not eat,’ and today, the mother is crying and saying, ‘My son does not look at me.’ All these things indicate that the source of compassion within us is drying up. We garland Mahavir. We discuss the ideals of Mahavir but remember that these old age homes are being built, and old parents are being sent to them. Think, is this our culture? Do we have these values? On one hand, it is said. May you be motherly gods, ancestral gods, and guest gods for the second time we mix so much with people outside our family. It takes so much time, but I do not spend time with my parents. We are talking about culture and values. Today, there is a need for good values to be inculcated in a person’s life right from birth.

Maha Sadhvi Preeti Ratna Shri Ji said that we believe in Bhagwan Mahavir. It is very easy to believe in Bhagwan Mahavir but it is equally difficult to follow his path.

Bharat and traces of slavery

On this occasion, revered saints and sages of the Jain community also expressed their views. Acharya Shri Sunil Sagar Ji Maharaj said in his address that when there is great thirst, then there is a need for water; Similarly, in the environment of unrest and intolerance, there is a need for ‘Mahavir’. Truth, non-violence and morality came to our country from 24 Tirthankaras and Ram, Krishna, Buddha and Mahavir and Rashtra Swayamsevak Sangh protected it. India considers the whole world as its family, and the countries of Western culture consider the world as a market in which everything is sold. Development, along with heritage, is our priority.

He added that the Sangh has united the entire country. Sangh has connected man with Bhagwan. RSS Sarsangchalak Mohan Bhagwat Ji and the Sangh did wonders. RSS has brought all four children of Bhagwan Mahavir on one platform. He further said that Bharat has left behind all the traces of its slavery. Therefore, I want to say, “Bharat has won, and India has lost.”

“World is looking upto bharat with hope”

While addressing the Kalyanak Mahotsav, RSS Sarsanghchalak, Dr Mohan Bhagwat emphasised the need to daily recite the Ekatmta Stotra, in which it is said that – Vedas, Puranas, all the Upanishads, Ramayan, Mahabharat, Geeta, Jain scriptures, Buddhist Tripitaka and the Guru Granth Sahib, this is the best knowledge (Gyan Nidhi) of Bharat.

He further said that everyone in the world wants the truth that gives eternal happiness, but the difference between the world and Bharat is that the world stopped after searching it outside. However, after searching outside, Bharatiya Tapasvi started searching the same within and eventually reached the ultimate truth. With utmost ease and through this instance, Dr Bhagwat unfolded the complex life lesson where he explained that the eye of the beholder changes perception. He said that a glass of water might be half full for one, half empty for another, a third person might say there is less water, and the fourth might say that the glass is big. The description differs from person to person, but the object and the situation remain the same.

Dr Mohan Bhagwat

Dr Mohan Bhagwat said that Mahavir Swami ji’s thoughts are relevant even today. Happiness is not in material things. You don’t have to live alone as one person; leave aside individualism. Live in harmony with everyone. Walk with non-violence, be patient, don’t steal. Don’t desire other’s money. All these things were told as a way of life.

Apart from this, Mohan Bhagwat Ji said that the Sangh has been following the footprints of Bhagwan Mahavir since the beginning. To ensure that the message of Bhagwan Mahavir reaches the masses, the Sangh has started working in more than 70,000 of its Shakhas. Apart from this, the Sangh has added the biography of Bhagwan Mahavir as a curriculum in its intellectual programme. Nature has so many resources that the world’s needs can be fulfilled, but nature cannot satisfy the greed of even one person. Bharat has followed the messages of Bhagwan Mahavir since the beginning. Our aim is not to conquer the world; our aim is to connect the world. This world will get the solution of peace only from Bharat. There was a time when Bharat showed the path of peace to the world for thousands of years. It is necessary for us to follow the messages of Bhagwan Mahavir in today’s changing times.

Sanatan Dharma a banyan tree

In this programme, Dr Rajendra Muni Ji Maharaj said there are two sides to knowing a person: life and philosophy. Both sides of Mahavir Swami are very good. With the teachings of Bhagwan Mahavir, we can establish peace in the world. RSS has been doing very good work since the beginning. RSS has made the entire country happy. Sanatan Dharma is a banyan tree, Jainism, Buddhism, Sikhism are its branches. Shri Pragya Sagar Ji Muniraj said that an organisation like RSS has a presence in every country of the world and every locality of Bharat. If the teachings of Bhagwan Mahavir are propagated through the Shakhas of the Sangh, it will have a good impact on society.

Apart from this, Bharat Bhushan Arora, Delhi Prant Karyavah said that RSS, Delhi organised this programme. People of the Sangh and Jain communities play a leading role in social service. This programme is a step towards making Bharat a world leader. Apart from this, many famous personalities of the Jain community and many officials of the National and Delhi State of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh were present in the programme. More than 1200 people participated in this programme.
