Tamil Nadu BJP Chief Annamalai vows to transform Thiruvannamalai on similar lines as PM Modi’s constituency Kashi

Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai, concluding his extensive En Maan En Makkal yatra across 234 assembly segments since July 28, assures that if victorious in the Thiruvannamalai Lok Sabha Constituency, he will enlist the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to elevate Thiruvannamalai into a premier pilgrimage destination. Drawing parallels with the transformative changes in Varanasi (Kashi) under PM Modi’s leadership, Annamalai envisions world-class facilities and infrastructure for Thiruvannamalai.

Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai, nearing the conclusion of his ambitious yatra covering the assembly segments in Thiruvannamalai district, asserted his commitment to transforming the region on the lines of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance model. On the second day of his yatra, January 31, Annamalai engaged in an interaction with local traders, kicked off a symbolic journey from Gandhi statue to Gandhi statue, and received an enthusiastic response from the public, eager to meet and greet him, present gifts, and take selfies.

Addressing a gathering at the end of his yatra, Annamalai highlighted India’s economic progress over the past decade, moving from the 11th to the 5th position. He praised PM Modi’s leadership, asserting that India, under Modi’s guidance, has assumed the role of “Viswaguru,” providing global solutions to complex issues. Annamalai pointed to the successful resolution of the long-standing Ram Janmabhoomi issue and the subsequent development of Ayodhya, Varanasi, and Prayagraj with world-class infrastructure.

Assuring the voters of Thiruvannamalai, Annamalai promised to replicate the success of Varanasi in their constituency if the BJP wins in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. He envisioned transforming Thiruvannamalai into a smart city with state-of-the-art amenities, allocating Rs. 1000 crore for temple development. Annamalai urged the people to vote for Modi, accusing the DMK of running an anti-Hindu government and criticising Thirumavalavan for targeting Brahmins as the root cause of societal issues.

Annamalai criticised the DMK government for imposing the Goondas Act on farmers protesting against the acquisition of fertile lands for the SIPCOT industrial expansion project. He accused the Dravidian rule of harassing and arresting even peacefully protesting farmers, asserting that the BJP government at the Centre has been implementing various welfare schemes for farmers, tribes, and dalits.

The TN BJP chief urged voters to support Modi for a third term, promising pucca houses for Vanavasi people, direct cash assistance to farmers’ bank accounts, and comprehensive welfare schemes. He accused the Tamil Nadu government, led by the DMK, of falsely claiming credit for Central welfare schemes, branding it as sticker-pasting the achievements of the BJP. Annamalai emphasised the need for Modi’s continued leadership for the welfare and development of the state.

Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai has taken a strong stand against the DMK, addressing various issues, including governance concerns, corruption, and dynastic politics, during his recent statements. Annamalai commended the BJP government led by PM Modi for successfully resolving complex issues, particularly the Jammu and Kashmir matter. He emphasised the ongoing efforts to revive cultural values and expressed optimism, asserting that by 2047, India would emerge as an economic superpower, instilling faith in the youth for a prosperous future.

Drawing attention to a recent incident involving a DMK functionary named Sridharan, Annamalai criticised the delay in his arrest despite multiple rejections of anticipatory bail applications by the courts. He questioned the authority and qualifications of the district police superintendent, likening him to a toothless snake lacking powers. Annamalai juxtaposed the situation with Yogi Adityanath’s governance in Uttar Pradesh, highlighting the swift and stringent action against those who assault the police.

Addressing accusations of communalism against the BJP, Annamalai pointed to contradictory statements by DMK leaders, including an incident where a DMK functionary assaulted a woman police sub-inspector inside a temple. He criticized the selective secularism practiced by the DMK, citing instances where leaders openly declared their religious affiliations. Annamalai contended that the BJP, under PM Modi’s leadership, had received recognition from ten world nations, including eight Muslim countries, which awarded the highest honours to the Indian Prime Minister.

Annamalai shifted focus to the prevailing issues in Tamil Nadu, criticising the prevalence of family rule in various districts and alleging nepotism in political appointments. He decried the lack of opportunities for youth and dedicated party workers, emphasising the need for a system where merit takes precedence over familial connections.

Promising a corruption-free era in 2024, Annamalai declared that the BJP, under PM Modi’s leadership, would bring about transformative changes. He urged voters to boycott the DMK alliance, characterised as corrupt and dynastic, in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Annamalai asserted that the BJP-led alliance candidates from Tamil Nadu would work towards fulfilling the aspirations of voters who long for a government committed to honesty, people’s welfare, and transparency.
