A disturbing case of alleged love jihad has emerged in Noida, where a 20-year-old Dalit woman, employed in a company in Sector-63, has accused a man named Zubair of raping her and coercing her to convert to Islam.

The accused has been apprehended following the victim’s complaint to the Sector-63 police station. The victim, a resident of Shani Bazaar Chowk in Ghaziabad, has detailed a harrowing sequence of events in her statement.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the victim claimed that Zubair, residing in the same area, had been persistently following and pressuring her to engage in conversation for over five years.

On January 11, while she was on her way to the office, Zubair approached her and offered to drop her off. Instead of taking her to the workplace, he allegedly drove her to a hotel near the Bahlolpur police station, where he sexually assaulted her and recorded the act.

The victim reported that when her brother attempted to have the explicit video deleted, Zubair and his brother assaulted him.

In a video statement, the victim revealed that Zubair had been pressuring her to convert to Islam. The accused reportedly threatened to make the objectionable video viral on social media if she refused to embrace Islam.

Frustrated by the persistent harassment, the victim filed a complaint against Zubair.

Subsequently, the police registered an FIR based on her statement and promptly arrested Zubair. He has been charged under sections 376 (Punishment for sexual assault) and 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The police station’s in-charge stated that the victim, a resident of Ghaziabad, is employed in a company in Sector 63. She encountered Zubair, a Chhijarasi resident, some time ago.

On January 11, Zubair took her to a hotel, where the assault occurred, and he recorded the crime on his phone. Since then, Zubair has been exerting pressure on the victim to convert to Islam, as reported by media.
