In a shocking turn of events, authorities in Bihar’s Purnia district have successfully unravelled the murder case of a 15-year-old girl initially presumed to have ‘committed suicide.’ Mohammad Tayyub and Nazir Khan have been arrested in connection with the brutal slaying, where the victim’s throat was slit, and her lifeless body was suspended from a tree.

The case took a dark turn when the family members of the deceased registered a complaint, suspecting foul play after discovering the corpse. The investigation revealed that the victim had a romantic relationship with Mohammad Tayyub, who had brought his friend Nazir Khan from Delhi to Purnia. Contrary to his supposed location in Delhi, electronic evidence placed Tayyub in Purnia during the incident.

The chilling incident unfolded in the Amour police station area, where the girl’s lifeless body was discovered hanging from a tree in Haripur ward number 5 on the morning of December 28. The family vehemently believed that she was murdered, as per the First Information Report (FIR). After 17 days of rigorous investigation, the police publicly disclosed the case, arresting Tayyub and Khan, and exposing the entire criminal conspiracy.

Media reports indicate that the two perpetrators travelled to Purnia on December 27. On the same night, Tayyub lured the victim to a field, where he carried out the heinous act. Surprisingly, Tayyub returned to Delhi the next day, and his presence in Purnia went unnoticed.

The family, rejecting the suicide theory, lodged a police complaint against Mohammad Tayyub, who hails from the same village as the victim. Investigation into Tayyub’s device location confirmed his presence in Purnia during the alleged suicide, leading to the arrest of both culprits. During interrogation, Tayyub confessed to concocting a plan to eliminate his girlfriend, claiming she was pressuring him to marry her. He brutally sliced her neck, casting doubt on the initial suicide narrative. The police are now delving into the possibility of sexual assault as part of their ongoing inquiry.
