On January 22, coinciding with the Pran Pratishtha of Bhagwan Sri Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Saraswati Aggarwal, an 85-year-old resident of Karamtand in Dhanbad, will break her three-decade-long vow of silence by uttering ‘Ram, Sitaram.’ Devoting her life to Bhagwan Ram, Aggarwal, who spends most of her time in Ayodhya, expresses immense joy at the temple’s construction. She considers her life blessed, feeling that Ram Lalla has called her to participate in the Pran Pratistha (consecration) ceremony. Writing about the momentous occasion, she says, “My life has become blessed. Ram Lalla has called me to participate in the Pran Pratistha. After 30 years, my silence will be broken with ‘Ram Naam’.”

Saraswati Aggarwal, has received a special invitation to be part of the pran pratishtha of Ram Mandir. Aggarwal’s family is overjoyed by the invitation, her brothers will accompany her to Ayodhya. She will be welcomed at the Ayodhya Dham railway station by disciples of Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, the head of Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas and Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra. Aggarwal will stay at the swamiji’s ashram, Patthar Mandir Chhoti Chhawni, for four months, with a dedicated room prepared for her.

Commencing her spiritual journey in May 1992, Saraswati Aggarwal’s devotion led her to Ayodhya, where she met Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, the head of Ram Janmabhoomi Trust. Following his instructions, she circumambulated Kamtanath mountain, enduring a seven-and-a-half-month stay in Kalpavas with just a glass of milk daily. Aggarwal tirelessly completed the 14-km daily route around Kamtanath mountain. After this, she returned to Ayodhya and, on December 6, 1992, met Swami Nritya Gopal Das. Inspired by him, she began a fast of silence, vowing to break it on the day of the Ram temple consecration, marking her 30-year journey of anticipation and devotion.

Saraswati Aggarwal, who maintained a vow of silence for three decades, entered into matrimony 65 years ago with Devkinandan Agarwal from Bhonra, now deceased. Hailing from Rajasthan, she did not receive formal education but acquired basic education with the help of her husband. Despite not attending school, she learned to read and write by studying books independently. Engaging in daily readings of religious texts like Ram Charit Manas, she adheres to a satvik diet once a day. Devkinandan passed away 35 years ago, leaving behind eight children – four sons and four daughters, with three of them having since departed. The family wholeheartedly supported her spiritual choice to observe silence.
