In anticipation of the highly anticipated ‘Pran Prathistha’ ceremony of Ram Lalla’s idol in Ayodhya scheduled for January 22, fervent volunteers from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), and various Hindu organisations have embarked on an ambitious outreach program. Over the past three days, these volunteers have covered an impressive 10,000 Hindu households in the Prayag region, distributing souvenirs of the upcoming event and urging families to partake in the historic moment by visiting the revered Ram Mandir post-consecration.

The outreach initiative, launched on January 1, is set to span across approximately two lakh houses in Ayodhya by January 15, with invitations and symbolic items reaching around 30 lakh Hindu families in 20 districts within the Kashi region. The volunteers have been meticulously distributing puja akshat, patrak (invitations), and a photo of the Ram Mandir, aiming to evoke a sense of unity and excitement among the Hindu community.

Seers and saints associated with various akharas have wholeheartedly joined this mass outreach effort, standing shoulder to shoulder with their followers to ensure the success of the campaign. The distribution drive is not limited to urban areas; it encompasses rural villages, residential colonies, apartments, and slums, showcasing the extensive planning and dedication of the VHP and RSS volunteers.

In the Prayagraj district alone, the VHP and RSS have strategically planned to reach every Hindu family in 3,084 villages between January 1 and 15. To achieve this, they have formed ‘tolis’ or groups, with smaller groups of five members each focusing on villages, while larger groups of 20 to 40 members cover urban areas. A senior RSS functionary highlighted the urgency of the distribution efforts, stating, “We are distributing akshat, patrak, and the Ram Mandir photo at war footing while ensuring coverage in both rural and urban areas.”

Additionally, the volunteers are actively encouraging every Hindu family to illuminate their homes for a minimum of five days and spread the divine ‘Ramdhun’ across their surroundings following the Pran Prathistha ceremony. This initiative aims to not only celebrate the consecration of the idol but also to foster a collective spirit of devotion and celebration.

As part of the extensive preparations, VHP and RSS volunteers will identify and embellish prominent temples in villages, blocks, semi-urban, and urban areas with earthen diyas, marking the significance of the ceremony. Special pujas at these temples are also planned, adding a spiritual touch to this monumental occasion.

The collaborative effort involves an astounding 55,000 ‘tolis,’ comprising five lakh men, engaged in distributing akshat, patrak, and the Ram Mandir photo across over 22,000 villages and 20 districts in the Kashi region. The scale and enthusiasm behind this initiative underscore the deep-rooted significance of the upcoming Pran Prathistha ceremony and the unifying spirit that it holds for the Hindu community. As the nation eagerly awaits the historic event, these dedicated volunteers continue to work tirelessly, ensuring that every Hindu family is connected and engaged in this auspicious occasion.
