Expelled AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam on January 3 and said that the rebel AIADMK leaders would join hands with TTV Dinakaran led Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazhagam (AMMK).

Addressing a press conference in Chennai, former AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam said that the rebel leaders would join the Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazhagam.

“Since senior leaders appeal, we have formed a team to bring back some of the AIADMK cadres, and we are moving in it. We have elected district secretaries and other positions for that. All posts and members should be selected within 15 days and it will be announced soon. I will give gold chain price to those who do it soon,” O Panneerselvam said.

“In this parliament election time, every booth an agent should be selected in all parliament assembly constituency. and 100 per cent booth agent should be announced soon. A booth agent committee will be convened soon. In the Coming to Parliament or assembly election, our victory should be the thanksgiving to our leaders who formed a party and ruled,” O Panneerselvam added.

O Panneerselvam further claimed that he was still a member of the AIDMK till the Supreme Court took a decision on his petition. He said that even MGR had to form his own party.

“Our Amma (Jayalalitha) loved the Tamil people. Our Amma sacrificed her life as General Secretary of our party, and she made our party strong. We are proud to be cadres of this party. She had a vision and dream about this party. MGR made party law and Amma followed that same in her tenure.

When this party was a cadres party, one law could not be changed, that the General Secretary of the party should be elected by Cadres of the party, but now it’s been taken away. After Amma died, we passed a resolution to make Amma the permanent general secretary, but after her death, they ( EPS ) changed and dissolved the law, and now he himself announced himself as General secretary. Till Edapadi Palani Sami himself resigns from the General secretary post, our battle will continue,” he said.

“For the Government to continue, Edapadi Palani Sami needed OPS support. Edapadi Palanisami never thought of it and he wanted all posts to be in his hands. When MGR was sacked from DMK he formed party and made law that cadres should elect general secretary and now disrespect for that law is been done. A common man can come to the highest post of party. We are in legal battle in SC and verdict to be by January 19. We are not in a separate party till that verdict,” O Panneerselvam added.

The expelled AIADMK leader also said that the BJP leadership had been in constant touch with him. “The BJP leadership has been in regular touch with me (in recent times). Will the AIADMK accept if the BJP asks for replacing (AIADMK general secretary) Palaniswami? Will they replace him? Then how can they ask to change BJP State Leadership? What rights do they have?”, Panneerselvam said.
