Bharat has produced great Rishis, Gurus, and leaders who have dedicated their entire lives to the betterment of society, nation, and world. Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar, often known as Guruji, is the Second Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. His service to the nation during a time of upheaval and opposition to the “Bharatiyatva” is admirable. No one can imagine how a great leader following the teachings of Sanatan Dharma can bring such a wonderful change. We truly need to understand such a fantastic personality in depth so that more and more such leaders can be formed in the future to help our great nation become “Vishwaguru.” To comprehend his life, we must study Guruji’s biography.

The book was written by late Ranga Hari, a great author and a man who gave his entire life to building the nation, and the way he has written and covered Guruji’s life is actually a holy book that will help each individual grow as a great leader, deep understanding of every aspect of life, developing life skills, and an attitude to spend each moment of life for the betterment of the nation for the global good. His life, vision, mission, and the manner he used every moment to achieve goals are beyond our comprehension and capacity. This book will alter our thinking and place us in an orbit where we will only consider the well-being of the nation and the planet.

When we read the book, we learn about how he was and continues to be an inspiration to millions of people. His love, regardless of caste, colour, or socioeconomic situation, is inexplicable and has created a space in the hearts of millions. He pushed for serenity and demonstrated through his actions that everyone is equal and that no one should be treated unfairly because of his caste, socioeconomic standing, or any other reason that is contrary to humanity. He paved the way for young people, entrepreneurs, politicians, working professionals, and people from all walks of life to act calmly and decisively when the odds are stacked against them.

A boy who has fought since childhood, defying all obstacles, has obtained his master’s degree in science. A child with a curious mind, a frequent reader, a wonderful listener and orator, a remarkable presence of mind, a great learner and teacher, a follower of Sanatan culture and a regular practitioner of Yoga are just a few of his attributes that demonstrate the depth of his personality. His essential feature was communication with everyone, as he used to write letters on a daily basis and keep the conversation going, which built a deep link with the majority of people he encountered.

When he was RSS Sarsanghchalak, he demonstrated his depth of leadership and spiritual knowledge, as well as how “Hindutva” principles and acts are outstanding. When the RSS was banned following Mahatma Gandhi’s assassination, he was arrested along with thousands of swayamsevaks on bogus and irrelevant claims. At the time, how Guruji handled the matter should have been thoroughly examined by everyone in order to comprehend the depth of this amazing personality and why Hindutva is great in all aspects. Guruji found it easier to foment unrest by ordering swayamsevaks to take to the streets and destroy Government machinery, causing issues for people, local governments, and administration.

At the time, he stated that he believed in democracy and constitutional power. Despite the fact that his organisation is outlawed and hundreds of swayamsevak have been tortured, he opted to seek justice through the legal system. After he was released from prison, his communication with then-prime minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel demonstrates his level of patience, calmness, effective communication, and leadership traits in the worst of circumstances, demonstrating his great character. Most importantly, he maintained a “Nation first” mindset in all situations, stating that nothing is bigger than the nation and Dharma. His amazing character demonstrates how Hindutva ideology is excellent for dealing with every situation in life successfully and with ease.

Even when the Government urged him to unite RSS with Congress, he refused without becoming weighed down under intense pressure. He stated at the time that his organisation was attempting to unite Hindus in order to build a powerful Bharat. United Hindus would uplift and restore glory to this wonderful nation without causing harm to any religion. The organisation is attempting to eliminate the “colonial mindset” that has fostered a mindset of Indian servitude. Sangh is aiming to restore the “Bharatiyatva” roots in every Bharatiya. There are many stories where he treated everyone with equal respect and love. I’ll give you an example from the book.

Guruji shared an experience of one of his trips to Nagpur. He narrated, “Some village volunteers (swayamsevaks) had gathered in one location, and after the program, the man whose house we had stayed at for a time insisted on taking us out for tea. We sat in the courtyard, around five or six of us, waiting for tea. The house was really small. So, the dining room and kitchen were combined. In one corner, a stove was lighted, and a teapot was placed on it. When the water had boiled after adding tea powder and jaggery, milk was poured in. Everyone was staring at the jaggery in the boiling water when the man began hunting for a strainer for the tea. He strained the tea with his dhoti because he couldn’t find the strainer. He poured the tea into large cups and placed them in front of us. The mouths of others around me went sour, but I quickly emptied my glass. Then, we all bid him farewell.

When the subject of tea came up on a journey, I told them, “If I hadn’t drunk the tea that man gave so lovingly, his heart would have been very sad and felt depressed.” I would not disregard anyone’s love if they offered me anything out of love and even if it harms me. Above all, the individual is very important; the individual is paramount.”

He awoke the sense of social service in the inmates’ brains by presenting this type of real-life experience. Guruji’s work style was to provide education laced with heartfelt feelings rather than logical and dry knowledge.

Such a remarkable figure who had an in-depth understanding of every difficulty that Bharatiyas were experiencing in terms of Dharma, personal and national character building, social, economic, and spiritual dimensions, and his tireless commitment for the betterment of humanity is admirable. His supervision and guidance aided in the establishment of numerous institutes and organisations that are doing their utmost to uplift every Bharatiya. I encourage everyone to study this book in order to internalise the traits that everyone desires and to work for the betterment of oneself, society, and nation using Sanatan principles.
