A viral video from Bihar has been turning heads lately, in which two female teachers can be seen pleading to the authorities concerned to change the timings of the school citing difficulties in reaching home in the evening.

The duo in the video can be heard explaining the challenges faced by them to reach home after their shifts following the Bihar government’s recent directive to the teachers to be present in the school from 9 am to 5 pm.

According to the reports, the Bihar education department has recently instructed the government school teachers to be present in the school for at least eight hours; however the timings of the school are now causing difficulties for a few female teachers who have made a video and appealed to the authorities to look after their concern.

In the viral video put up by the News 18 network, a couple of school teachers can be seen pleading to the authorities that they leave the school at around 5pm in the evening, and it becomes dark at around 5.45 pm as they have to wait for the transport. Further the duo in the video claimed that they have to travel a distance of around 15 kilometres via bus and they are unsure when they will reach their homes.

The viral video has now also grabbed the attention of the opposition leaders, who have now appealed to the Chief Minister to review the decision on priority basis.

Reacting to the video, Bhartiya Janata party (BJP) leader, Samrat Choudhary while taking the government to task on the issue of women safety said that the Nitish Kumar-led government should act before it’s too late.

Sharing the video from his X handle, the BJP state unit president of Bihar wrote, “Nitish Babu, your decision has become a sign of danger for the women of Bihar, please wake up before it’s too late.”

It is to be noted that of late the leaders of the opposition and the government have been at loggerheads over the issue of law and order and women safety in the State where the BJP, which is in opposition, has alleged that the State government has failed to contain the spurt in crimes against women in Bihar.
