Welcoming the Allahabad High Court decision on the Gyanvapi mandir case, the International working president and senior advocate Alok Kumar today said that it is a matter of satisfaction that all stratagems to delay and prolong the suits to reclaim lands of Kashi Vishwanath are being frustrated. Today, the Allahabad High Court has confirmed the decision of the District Judge that the said suits are not barred by any law.
The suits raise an important issue. The High Court has noted that the delay in the decision of the suits may escalate the tensions between the two communities. The High Court has appropriately directed that the suits be disposed off within six months.
Vishva Hindu Parishad welcomes this decision. We would wish that the Muslim side would now avoid raising hyper-technical objections and contest the matters on merits. This is the only way by which the suits can be decided within the permitted time frame of 6 months, he added.
Last month, the Supreme Court refused to interfere with the order passed by the Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court, Justice Pritinker Diwaker, transferring the case relating to the Kashi Vishwanath Mandir-Gyanvapi Complex dispute to another bench from a single-judge bench.
A bench of Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Justices JB Pardiwala, and Manoj Misra dismissed an appeal filed by Anjuman Intezemia Masjid, which manages the Gyanvapi Complex, challenging the administrative decision of the high court chief justice’s transfer order.
