Gaza Strip: IDF fighter aircraft, troops successfully ‘bust’ 250 terrorist infrastructures including schools

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) reported that over the last day, the Israeli Air Force attacked about 250 targets in the territory of the Gaza Strip and that its fighters continue to locate and destroy weapons, underground shafts, explosive charges, and other terrorist infrastructure. It has also uncovered more examples of terrorists using schools for cover.

Israel’s Airstrike

The forces of the IDF’s 7th Brigade combat team directed a fighter jet that destroyed the two launchers from which terrorists enacted the barrage of rockets that hit the centre of Israel on December 5, 2023. Also, the terrorists from Hamas and Islamic Jihad were eliminated, and a number of terrorist infrastructures were destroyed.

Forces from the IDF Kfir Infantry Brigade eliminated an armed terrorist squad that was operating near a school in the northern Gaza Strip. After that, the fighters located and destroyed an underground shaft and other terrorist infrastructure located in the area of the school. Weapons were found in another school in the northern Gaza Strip.

About Kfir Brigade

The Kfir Infantry Brigades is the largest of Israel’s five infantry brigades, at the forefront of the war against Palestinian terrorists. Operating under the Central Command, this brigade, whose name means the Lions Club Brigade, is made up of five battalions stationed in the West Bank, from Hebron in the south to Jenin in the north via Tulkarem. These units specialise in urban guerrilla warfare in dense areas and complex operations.

According to the Israeli Army, until December 4, 2023, the brigade helped to locate and destroy more than 30 entrance tunnels to Gaza suspected of being used by Hamas to move, shield, launch operations, train or manufacture weapons. The Brigade also launched nearly 100 artillery strikes and destroyed numerous targets of the Islamist movement, the Israeli army said in a press release.

Soldiers in the Kfir Brigade undergo intense combat training. They are trained in Arabic language and courses so as to converse with Palestinians as a major part of their operations. The brigade is composed of several battalions, namely, Nachshon Battalion, Shimshon Battalion, Netzah Yehuda, Lavi, Duchifat Battalion and Haruv Battalion
