The two-day Credit Society National Convention organised by Sahakar Bharti was inaugurated today in the chief hospitality of Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar at Pusa Fair Ground, Delhi. Addressing thousands of delegates, Tomar said that the cooperative sector, accepting the challenges facing the country, should actively contribute to making India a developed nation on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Union Agriculture Minister Tomar said that “an organization with honest representation is necessary for the development of any sector and I can say with confidence that Sahakar Bharti is an able and strong representative organization of the representatives working in the field of cooperative.”  It is a matter of great importance and pleasure to see such a large number of credit societies gathering at one place for one purpose in today’s event. Tomar said that we all know very well that without values there is no cooperation and without cooperation there is no progress. Sahakar Bharti is providing dedicated services in the field of cooperation. Its objective is to advance cooperation through values. The objective of cooperation is not new to the country. The feeling of cooperation resides in our soul. Earlier, houses in villages were kutcha, but relationships were strong. Due to the spirit of cooperation no one in the village was troubled and there was no dearth of joy. The path to happiness lies only through a spirit of cooperation. Despite the spirit of cooperation being in our culture, this journey is incomplete after 75 years of independence, because the leadership that worked earlier lacked vision. There was a lack of policy and intention, but today the country has a strong leadership like Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Under his leadership, a government is working which has a far-sighted vision, strong intentions and the passion to move forward.

Tomar said that after the formation of a separate ministry of cooperation, the way the cooperative sector is progressing under the leadership of Amit Shah, a radical change will be seen in this sector in the coming times. Along with this, a feeling of cooperation will also arise in everyone. Tomar said that the cooperative sector is mainly related to rural areas, where there are farmers and agriculture. The contribution of the cooperative sector will be important in making everything available to the farmer easily and honestly and in reducing his problems. For this it is necessary for the societies to be strong. Today, PACS are being computerized in the country and their capacity is being increased. The world’s largest grain storage scheme is being started by providing loans at cheap interest. Run PACS PDS shop, petrol pump, medicine shop and gas agency, work on this is also being done. This will not only strengthen the packs but will also benefit the consumers.

BL Verma, while addressing the representatives of credit societies who came to the convention, said that the Ministry of Co-operation is committed and is continuously working for the welfare of the cooperative institutions across the country. Under the guidance of the Honorable Prime Minister and the leadership of the Co-operation Minister, the Ministry of Co-operation Now he has embarked on the journey of prosperity through cooperation. He said that today, due to lack of warehouse, food grains worth Rs 1 lakh 20 thousand crores were destroyed. Therefore, we have taken many concrete steps in the field of warehouse construction. Credit society’s money is the money of the poor, hence arrangements for recovery should be ensured. So, that the money of the poor can be saved. He said that 98000 youth and more than 5 lakh farmers are working today by taking loans through cooperatives.

National General Secretary of Sahakar Bharti, Uday Joshi said that the District, State and National Federation of Credit Societies have played an important role in the success of this convention. Four thousand cooperative brothers and sisters from 17 states have participated. He said that there is a need to do extensive work for digitalization of credit. All the countrymen, including the cooperative sector, should join the Vikas Bharat Sankalp Yatra and take a pledge to make India fully developed in the Amrit Kaal. In the program, Union Minister Tomar launched the theme song and released the souvenir. Union Minister of State for Cooperation B.L. Verma, reception chairperson of the convention Radheshyam Chandak, national president of Sahakar Bharti Dinanath Thakur, keynote speaker Dr. Uday Joshi, NEFCB president Jyotidra Bhai Mehta etc. also presented their views. Anna Saheb Jolhe, TMCC President N.S.
