Bihar: Youth killed for protesting against the forceful entry of goons in wedding procession; police begin probe

In a shocking incident reported from Bihar’s capital, Patna, a youth identified as Prince Sinha was shot by unknown assailants over a minor scuffle in a wedding procession.

According to the reports, a wedding procession was going on near the fire brigade office of Balwarganj under the Alamganj police station when a few uninvited unknown men joined the procession and started dancing with the women walking in the procession. It’s been reported that when the deceased youth P, Prince Sinha,ried to stop the goons, they started a fight with him.

The goons then took Prince Sinha some distance and then shot him before fleeing the spot. The injured youth was then immediately rushed to the Nalanda Medical College Hospital (NMCH) where the doctors declared him dead. The deceased body was later sent for a postmortem by the police. It’s been learnt that the deceased youth Prince Sinha is a father of two who arrived to attend the wedding of one of his relatives.

In a briefing about the incident, the Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Patna City said “that a man was shot in a wedding procession after a scuffle between few people in Balwarganj under Alamganj Police station limits. Prince Kumar was shot by unknown men, who died during the course of treatment. The assailants are being identified by the police and further action is being taken.”

Youth killed in Muzaffarpur over playing song on DJ

In another similar incident reported from Gadha Hasan village under Paru police station limits of Muzaffarpur a youth identified as Vivek Kumar was killed by trolley workers over a dispute pertaining to playing a song in a wedding ceremony on Wednesday, November 29.

According to media reports, a minor scuffle occurred between a few villagers and the trolley workers in the evening over playing favourite songs, which got settled after a few elders of the village intervened. Though later on the trolley workers forcibly took one of the youths on the trolley and started thrashing him black and blue.

Learning about the incident, the villagers then chased the trolley, following which the workers threw Vivek and fled the spot. The youth was then rushed to the hospital, where he was referred to Muzaffarpur, though later the doctors declared him dead.

It is to be noted that the law and order situation in the state has been at the forefront of the ongoing tussle between the Nitish Kumar-led ruling coalition and the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lately, where the latter has been continuously accusing the Mahagathbandhan government for failing to contain the sprut in crimes such as murder, loot, crime against women, and communal flare-ups.
