Ayodhya: Auspicious timing secured for Ram Mandir’s pran pratistha; 4-phased plan for festivities unveiled

The pran pratishtha of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya's Ram Mandir is scheduled for January 22, 2024, at 12:20 pm. The decision, made during a Sangh Parivar meeting, emphasises an international dimension to the event. Divided into four phases, the preparation involves forming committees at the grassroots level, distributing worship materials to households, creating a festive atmosphere nationwide, and arranging travel for devotees.

In a significant development, the auspicious muhurt for the pran pratishtha of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir has been finalised. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to complete this momentous task on January 22, 2024, at 12:20 pm, under the celestial influence of the Mrigashira Nakshatra.

The decision to give this event an international dimension was made during a crucial meeting of the Sangh Parivar on November 19, at the Saket Nilayam. This historic event is being approached with meticulous planning, divided into four phases.

The initial phase, which commenced on November 19  and will run until December 20, is dedicated to outlining the event’s schedule. Small operational committees will be formed during this period, with teams of 10 individuals at the district and block levels. These teams, comprising volunteers from the temple movement, are tasked with conducting meetings at 250 locations to encourage widespread participation in the event.

The second phase, scheduled to start on January 1, focuses on the ‘home-to-home contact’ plan. During this phase, a picture of Bhagwan Ram’s idol, worshipped rice (akshat), and informative leaflets will be distributed to an estimated 10 crore families for worship. The appeal is to celebrate the event by lighting diyas (lamps) and fostering a sense of collective participation.

The third phase, slated for January 22, aims to create a festive atmosphere nationwide with household observances. This day will mark the pinnacle of the event, as the pran pratishtha is carried out in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries.

The fourth and final phase is scheduled to commence on Republic Day and extend until February 22. This phase will focus on arranging travel for devotees from across the country to have a glimpse of Bhagwan Ram. The campaign will be conducted at the state level, with specific plans for showcasing the deity to the workers of the Awadh region on January 31 and February 1.

The meeting at Saket Nilayam emphasised the importance of internationalising this historic event, signifying its cultural and spiritual significance beyond national boundaries. The meticulous planning, divided into these four phases, underscores the magnitude of the occasion and the desire to ensure widespread participation.

The Sangh Parivar’s decision to form small operational committees at the grassroots level demonstrates a commitment to inclusivity and involving people from diverse backgrounds. The appeal to celebrate the event at the grassroots level, with the ‘home-to-home contact’ plan, aims to foster a sense of collective devotion and participation among millions of households.

As the nation gears up for this historic occasion, the event promises to be a moment of spiritual and cultural significance, transcending geographical and cultural boundaries. The meticulous planning and phased approach underscore the commitment to making the pran pratishtha of Ram Lalla a truly memorable and inclusive event for the entire nation.
