On November 23, Hindu women taking part in the Khatu Sham Yatra in Punjab’s Patiala district, specifically in the Nabha region, faced mistreatment from a group of children in the Muslim community. These children, reportedly from a shop owned by a member of the Muslim community, threw toilet cleaner on the women, resulting in the latter developing severe allergies.
According to reports, the Hindu community in Nabha had organised a Shobha Yatra to mark the Khatu Sham Janmotsav. Hundreds of Hindus participated in the rally, coming together to celebrate the occasion in Nabha.
However, as the rally reached the Sadar Bazar area, some women taking part were mistreated by Muslim children who had gathered toilet cleaner from a nearby restroom and threw it at the women. This act caused rashes and allergies among the affected individuals.

The Nabha Police took prompt action in response to the incident and filed a formal complaint. The Station House Officer (SHO) of Nabha, as confirmed in a video released by the Patiala Police, acknowledged the occurrence, specifying that the children involved belonged to the Muslim community.
In the video, the SHO reported, “The rally was peacefully passing through the Sadar Bazar area. Some children belonging to the Muslim community threw toilet cleaner at the women from the rally. The children threw the cleaner from a shop that belonged to a Muslim individual, who is supposedly their relative. The women have developed severe allergies. No rumors should be spread. An investigation is underway in this case.”
He emphasised the importance of immediately informing the police if such incidents occur and urged the public to maintain peace, discouraging the spread of any unfounded rumors.
