The temple trust responsible for overseeing this grand ceremony is expected to offer Prime Minister Narendra Modi the extraordinary honour of carrying the ‘Ram Lalla’ idol from the makeshift temple to its new sanctum sanctorum. To achieve this, Modi would need to shun traditional protocols and traverse over 500 metres on foot. The information, as reported has ignited anticipation and excitement among the people of India.

The consecration ceremony is expected to witness the participation of several prominent figures. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is anticipated to accompany PM Modi on this sacred journey, signifying the significance of the event in the state. Additionally, RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat is expected to be among those present at the event, adding a touch of spiritual gravitas to the proceedings.

During the ceremony, PM Modi will preside as the ‘yajman,’ a host who plays a crucial role in organising and overseeing Hindu religious ceremonies. This role takes on particular importance during the ‘pran pratistha,’ the custom of conducting religious rituals before the idol’s eyes are opened for the first time. The entire event is set to unfold between 11.30 am and 12.30 pm, a time that will undoubtedly be etched in the memories of those in attendance.

The consecration ceremony will attract the participation of leading priests from all corners of India. The temple trust has plans to extend invitations to numerous seers and saints, as well as dignitaries, top industrialists, and Padma awardees, creating a truly diverse congregation of people from various walks of life. Furthermore, the Temple Trust intends to invite heads of states and dignitaries from other nations, underscoring the global significance of this event.

One intriguing aspect of the ceremony is the selection of the main deity. The Temple Trust has entrusted three sculptors with the task of creating three idols. Among these, one made of the finest Rajasthan marble and another from dark-coloured granite from Karnataka stand out. However, the official announcement regarding which idol will occupy the sanctum sanctorum is yet to be made, adding an element of suspense to the proceedings. For now, the ‘chal murti,’ currently worshipped at the makeshift temple, will be carefully placed in a sacred spot following the ceremony. It is expected to make periodic appearances alongside the permanent idol during various auspicious occasions throughout the year.

The consecration ceremony in Ayodhya is poised to be a monumental event that will be remembered for generations to come. With the Prime Minister of India himself playing a pivotal role and the presence of eminent spiritual and political leaders, it marks a significant step in the realisation of a cherished dream for many. The world will be watching as this historic ceremony unfolds, uniting millions in faith and devotion.
