As part of ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign, Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan handed over three Kalash to the volunteers during a programme organised by CRPF in Darbar hall of Rajbhavan, Ranchi.

Jharkhand CP Radhakrishnan greeted the people on the occasion of Vijayadashami and the Asian Women’s Hockey Championship being held in Ranchi.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said that soil was being collected from over 25 crore houses in more than 6 lakh villages of the country to build ‘Amrit Vatika’ (garden), which has been conceived as a grand symbol of ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’.

The garden will be developed at the National War Memorial in the national capital.

“Several programmes were organised across the country to celebrate the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. The ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign is the last of these programmes. Soil is being collected from more than 25 crore houses in more than 6 lakh villages and, with it, ‘Amrit Vatika’ will be developed as a garden commemorating ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given ‘Panch Pran’ to build a developed India and to shed our legacy of slavery,” Thakur said.

As a tribute to pay respect to freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the country, ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’, a nationwide campaign was launched on August 9, 2023.

This campaign is the concluding event of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav,’ which began on March 12, 2021, and has witnessed widespread public participation (Jan Bhagidari) with over 2 lakh programs organised across India.
