Chhattisgarh: Two Naxals killed in encounter with security forces in Kanker

Two Naxals were killed following an exchange of fire with security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district on October 21 morning, a top police official said.

The official further said that the District Reserve Guards recovered two bodies of Naxals, along with arms and ammunition, in the Gome Jungle of Koylibeda police station limits today at 8:00 am.

“Kanker DRG recovered two male naxal dead bodies along with an INSAS rifle, one 12-bore rifle, and other arms and ammunition after an escalation of force (EoF),” said P Sunderraj Inspector-General, Bastar.

Earlier on October 17, another Naxalite was killed following an encounter with security forces in Bijapur’s Bandepara, an official statement said. Police said that one AK-47 rifle was also recovered from the spot. Also last month, two women Naxalites were killed in an exchange of fire with District Reserve Guards (DRG) in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada on September 20.

During the search of the area, the bodies of two women naxal cadres, along with one INSAS Rifle and one 12-bore rifle, were recovered from the spot.
