There has been a significant increase in the disposal of pending revenue cases in Uttar Pradesh since Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reprimanded Revenue Department officials for negligence last month, the State Government said on October 19.

During a review meeting of the Revenue Department held on October 16, the Additional Chief Secretary Revenue informed the Chief Minister that, at present, the disposal ratio of pending revenue cases had been recorded at 100 per cent while the disposal ratio of revenue cases, in general, has exceeded 90 per cent, the Government said.

It is worth mentioning here that the Chief Minister had reviewed the report of the CM Command Center in the annex on September 16, where he had strongly reprimanded officials for the delay in settling the revenue matters. He had warned officials to make improvements within a month, or face music. As a result, nearly five lakh revenue cases were resolved within a month, while over 2.6 lakh cases, pending for one to five years, were also been settled.

Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue, Sudhir Garg, mentioned that in the revenue review meeting on October 16, the Chief Minister expressed happiness over the 100 per cent disposal ratio of pending revenue cases and gave directions to achieve a 95 per cent resolution rate for other revenue matters.

The highest number of revenue cases were resolved in Lucknow (100,307 cases), followed by Ballia (70,761 cases), Prayagraj (65,771 cases), Gorakhpur (62,906 cases), and Gonda (58,264 cases).

Similarly, the top five districts in terms of resolving measurement-related cases are Ballia, Azamgarh, Etah, Ghazipur, and Lucknow. Out of a total of 533,089 registered cases, 436,921 cases have already been resolved. In the past month, 29,032 cases were resolved. There is a provision for resolving such cases at the Sub-District Magistrate level within 90 days.

There were a total of 1,26,29,738 applications for the transfer of names, out of which 1,18,86,265 applications have been processed, with a resolution rate of over 94 per cent. Notably, Ballia, Gonda, Shahjahanpur, Lucknow, and Basti have shown impressive performance in this regard.
