A sensational old video of burning a youth alive creating panic in trouble hit Manipur. Police said that the video is of 4th May when the unrest just began in the state. Authorities in Manipur have handed over to the CBI the case of a sensational viral video that depicts a young man being burned in a trench. The viral video is causing fresh tensions in the trouble-torn state.

Security Advisor to Manipur Government Kuldeep Singh stated that the man in the video has been identified and that the incident took place on May 4, a day after violence erupted in the state. He said the video is of the same period when armed militants kidnapped and killed two students including a minor girl. The killing of the young students went viral last month and the security situation decorated immediately. A top-level police source said that security has been briefed up in sensitive areas after the latest video went viral.

Kuldeep Singh further said that on the request of Manipur DGP Rajiv Singh, the CBI has taken up the case for investigation.

Meanwhile, Search operations were conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of Imphal East, Churachandpur, Imphal West, Kakching and Thoubal districts. During the operations, 11 sophisticated arms, 20 ammunition, 02 kg gunpowder, 0151 mm Mortar, 01 36 HE Hand Grenade, 10 improvised mortars and 02 radio sets were recovered from Imphal East, Churachandpur and Thoubal districts.

Meanwhile, On the wee hours of 8th October, vigilant security forces foiled an attack by armed miscreants in the general area of New Keithelmanbi. Thereafter, at around 4:30 am security forces deployed on the North West periphery of Keithelmanbi detected suspicious movement of some individuals and fired Illumination rounds to ascertain their identity.

The security forces came under fire and effectively retaliated in a calibrated manner, causing the miscreants to flee. Combing and search operations were thereafter undertaken by security forces. The alertness and calibrated response by the security forces prevented the nefarious designs of the miscreants from being successful.
