Recently, a heart-wrenching video surfaced on social media platform X, where a mother in inconsolable grief was crying for her son. However, further inquiry revealed that this incident occurred four years prior and received minimal coverage at the time. The central figure in this tragedy is Pastor Praveen Kumar, hailing from Bellampalli in Telangana, who asserts himself as a healer. Placing unreserved faith in him, a mother tragically lost her son four years ago.

Notably, in August 2023, another naive believer took his deceased mother, hoping she could be resurrected.

Below are two cases one of the 21-year-old boy and the other of the dead mother who became a victim of the fake healing methods presented and propagated by the pastors across Bharat and Pastor Praveen in general.

Death of the 21-year-old boy

The incident which recently got coverage centres around an ardent follower of Pastor Praveen Kumar, renowned for his purported ability to effect miraculous healings through divine intervention. This devoted mother had previously witnessed one of Pastor Praveen Kumar’s healing sessions on television, where he seemed to perform extraordinary cures with a touch. Filled with unshakeable faith and hope, she brought her ailing son to the Calvary Church in Telangana, where Pastor Praveen Kumar presided.

Placing her trust in the power of prayer and divine healing, the mother turned to the pastor, desperately seeking a miracle to save her son. She held steadfast to her belief in the remarkable recoveries she had seen on television. However, this visit turned into a nightmarish ordeal for her and her family.

For over five excruciating days, Pastor Praveen Kumar retained custody of the ailing young boy. As anticipated, the pastor did little to alleviate the young one’s worsening condition. The mother could only watch in despair as her son’s health continued to decline.

As the young boy’s condition deteriorated further, the mother pleaded with Pastor Praveen Kumar and his associates to rush her son to a hospital. Instead of displaying compassion, they orchestrated a heartless deception. Instead of taking the boy to a medical facility, they arranged for individuals to transport him to an undisclosed location.

This act of betrayal left the anguished mother and her son abandoned and isolated, their trust in those they had relied upon shattered. Fortunately, kindhearted passersby intervened upon hearing the mother’s anguished cries, preventing further harm and extending comfort to the grieving family.

In the video, she is captured in a state of inconsolable grief, uttering, “No one should endure what happened to my son.”

Resurrection of dead mother

The second incident involved a grieving man from Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, who undertook a journey spanning over 200 kilometres to reach the Calvary Church. Accompanied by his relatives, he transported his deceased mother’s body in an ambulance to the Church in Bellampalli, holding onto hope for a miraculous revival.

This poignant gesture highlights the significant sway that “healing pastors” like Praveen Kumar held over susceptible individuals. These crypto-Christians retain their original Hindu names, drawing in trusting Hindus and leading them towards conversion to Christianity.

Regrettably, these profoundly distressing incidents have received scant attention in mainstream media. It is imperative that authorities take resolute action against individuals such as Pastor Praveen Kumar, who exploit the vulnerable through deceptive television presentations.

Those who scrutinize traditional remedies like fish medicine for asthma often neglect to question the purported “healing” abilities of such fraudulent pastors. They also refrain from inquiring about missionary conversion efforts.
