Asserting that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is the kingpin in liquor scam, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said that on the indications of the Delhi CM Liquor scam in Delhi took place.

On October 3 morning, the ED conducted raids at AAP MP Sanjay Singh’s residence in connection with the Delhi excise policy-linked money laundering case.

Addressing a press conference, Gaurav Bhatia said that the accused, Dinesh Arora, a businessman, has accepted that the meeting was held at Delhi CM’s residence.

“The public of the nation and Delhi has understood that if there’s a kingpin in the Liquor scam it is Arvind Kejriwal on whose indications the Liquor scam in Delhi took place. The accused Dinesh Arora who is a businessman has accepted that at Delhi CM’s residence, the meeting was held,” Gaurav Bhatia said.

He further said that Sanjay Singh requested to ‘give Rs 32 lakhs to the ‘Paapi AAP Arajak Apradh Party’.

“On the indication of Arvind Kejriwal, Sanjay Singh said to ‘give Rs 32 lakhs to the ‘Paapi AAP Arajak Apradh Party’. An MP does ‘vasooli’ sitting at the CM’s residence. The 32 lakh money was given through cheque.
There could be crores of rupees, and it has come across during the investigation,” he added.

BJP leader further challenged Arvind Kejriwal to hold a press conference immediately and say that he hasn’t taken Rs 32 lakhs from Dinesh Arora.

“I challenge Arvind Kejriwal to hold a press conference immediately and say that he hasn’t taken Rs 32 lakhs which the accused Dinesh Arora claims to have given…Let the truth come to the fore,” he said.

Meanwhile, BJP workers are holding a protest outside the AAP office demanding the resignation of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.

Demanding the resignation of Delhi CM, BJP leader Manoj Tiwari said, “We have gathered here demanding resignation from Arvind Kejriwal. Former Delhi Ministers Satyendar Jain and Manish Sisodia have been in jail for a long time and Arvind Kejriwal is trying to save them. He is the mastermind of all of them.”

Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal defended AAP MP Sanjay Singh, alleging that the ED action was timed to elections.

“…Nothing will be found at his residence. 2024 elections are coming and they know that they will lose. These are desperate attempts by them. As elections near, all agencies like ED, CBI and will get active..”Arvind Kejriwal said.

Earlier this May, Sanjay Singh, in a letter to Finance Secretary T V Somanathan, had alleged that the ED Director and Assistant Director deliberately linked his name to the alleged liquor scam without any basis, tarnishing his public image and defaming him.

Sanjay Singh mentioned that his name was added on the basis of statements from Delhi-based businessman and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s close aide, Dinesh Arora.

According to ED sources, the name of the AAP leader appears four times in the ED charge sheet, out of which one reference was wrong and typed inadvertently.
