Silchar: Sensational murder inside a madrasa rocks Silchar city in southern Assam on August 13. Beheaded body of a minor student was found in the hostel of Darus Salam Hafizia Alia madrasa in Dhalai area of Cachar district . The deceased student has been identified as 11 year old Rabizul Hussain Laskar. The victim’s body was found in a hostel room of Dhalai Hawaithang Darus Salam Hafizia Madrassa in the morning at around 3.30 dawn by his hostel mates.

The body of the victim was found lying on the floor of his room when the teacher went to wake him up for Fajr prayers. The madrassa authorities immediately informed the police. Police rushed to the scene and recovered the body. The Madrassa authority said that after having dinner on the evening of August 12, the deceased Rabizul went to his room along with his roommates and slept.

But when the teacher went to wake up the students for the Fajr namaz his beheaded body was found lying on the floor. The deadly murder jolts the district as how a 12 years old student was murdered so brutally inside his hostel room without the knowledge of his roommates and madrasa authority. Cachar SP Numal Mahatta reached the crime spot immediately. The forensic team also collected the evidence from the crime scene. 20 students of the hostel were detained by Cachar police for enquiry.

Cachar SP Mahatta said the deceased student was enrolled in the madrasa 3 months ago. The madrasa has been sealed by the administration. There was nearly 25 students in the hostel and the deceased boy’s elder brother was also in the hostel. The teachers and management people were also detained by the police for further enquiry, SP Mahatta said.

The body was recovered in presence of the magistrate and sent to Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH) for post mortem. The madrasa was founded by a local Maulana in 2013 and currently 25 minor students are studying there. Police sources said that 6 other hostel mates were in the same room when the murder took place. SP Mahatta said that police will soon crack the case as investigation is on from all sides by the police.
