In one of the most unfortunate incidents, a woman frustrated by the alleged lacklustre attitude of the police barged into the police headquarters and tried committing self immolation after alleging the police for being hand in gloves with her exploiters. The victim woman tried to set her ablaze by sprinkling Kerosine oil on herself, when a few policemen intervened and snatched the liquid box from the woman.

Before attempting suicide the woman also created a ruckus in the headquarters and claimed that despite being not guilty she has been falsely alleged by the villagers for taking money from the accused.

In the viral video of the alteraction between the woman and the police, the victim can be heard alleging that all of this was done by Firoz Qureshi and his associate who allegedly bribed the police for harassing her. ” Justice is not being served, everyone in the village is taunting me that I am characterless. If I had accepted the money, why would have I come here? I would set myself on fire”, quoted the victim woman before pouring petrol on herself.

The woman has also alleged that the accused who pretended to marry me has been first arrested and then released on bail on the basis of some fake documents. The victim girl can also be seen aggressively engaging with the policemen and threatening the police official before attempting suicide.

Meanwhile while sharing the video on twitter Arun Sao the state unit president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tweeted that ” a daughter of Chhattisgarh fell prey victim to the misdeed of Abrar Khan, when will the ‘Ladki hun Lad sakti hun’ sloganeer Priyanka Gandhi will speak on the daughters of Chhattisgarh?”

According to the reports, the victim woman has alleged that a youth identified as Abrar Khan had been sexually exploiting her on pretext of getting married for two years. The woman has also alleged that she was beaten by Abrar and his associates in a lodge in Raipur.

Speaking with the media the district superintendent of police (SP) Kabirdham said ” a rape victim has been rescued by the policemen when she tried self immolation in SP office Kabirdham. The woman had alleged the prime accused for raping her on pretext of getting married for two years following which an FIR under section 376(2)(9)/294/323 was registered at Pandayetri police station.

It is to be noted that earlier in another incident reported from Ambikapur of Chhattisgarh a youth congress leader identified as Afsar Ali was also arrested by the police for luring a girl into physical relationship on pretext of marrying her.

As per the reports the accused Afsar had also promised the victim girl to help her become a doctor, however after exploiting her for some time, Afsar later refused to marry the victim girl and threatened her to upload her videos on the social media following which the girl approached the police and narrated her ordeal.

The accused was later arrested by the police who paraded him before the magistrate from where he was sent to judicial custody.
