On June 29, the Delhi Police claimed that the murder of a 16-year-old minor girl in the Shahbad Dairy area was well-planned, and they have assembled a strong case to guarantee the perpetrator, Sahil, gets a death sentence.

Delhi Police have filed a 640-page chargesheet against the 20-year-old accused on June 27. The minor girl was allegedly killed after being stabbed multiple times and her head being crushed with a boulder by Sahil on May 28, the police said.

The Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Dependra Pathak stated, “This was a case of well-planned murder which was carried out in revenge. We have all the evidence and within a month of incident we have submitted the charge sheet to get justice for the family of the victim”.

He further added, “We carried out the investigation with a professional and focused approach in the Sakshi murder case and filed a charge sheet before the court in record time. We have tried to make the case as watertight as possible so that the accused gets the harshest punishment which is death sentence”.

As per the reports, the 640-page chargesheet was presented before a POCSO court. The chargesheet was filed under POCSO’s Section 12 (sexual harassment of a child) and sections of the Scheduled Caste and Schedule Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Along with the provisions of the Arms Act, the accused has been charged with IPC sections 302 (murder), 354 A (sexual harassment), and 509 (word, gesture, or act designed to degrade the modesty of a lady).

Even the parents of the deceased minor girl demanded the death penalty for the accused, Sahil. “We want the death penalty for him. Life for life. The way my daughter is gone, he should also be gone,” the deceased mother said. She added, “The way he brutally killed my daughter he should get the death penalty. I don’t want anything from anyone my only demand is that he should be punished”.

This chilling murder was also caught on CCTV. In the footage, Sahil can be purportedly seen stabbing the girl multiple times with a knife and continued to stab her even when she slumped to the ground. He kicked her, took a concrete slab lying nearby, and bludgeoned her head. All this while the footage showed people watching the events unfold and walking past without intervening.

After the murder, Sahil was arrested from Bulandhshahr by Delhi Police on May 29. He reportedly left the city after the murder and turned off his phone, according to the police. The police stated that after the accused called his father, technical surveillance was instituted on him. After transferring from two buses, he arrived in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, where he was ultimately detained.

During the investigation, which is led by a team formed under Inspector Rajeev Ranjan’s supervision, the police recovered a knife from the murder site. During the investigation, the police also collected eight mobile phones and taken into custody. It had come to the fore that Sahil was under the influence of alcohol when he committed the brutal murder.

The police sources told the media, “During questioning, Sahil said that he had bought the knife used in the murder about 15 days ago from a weekly market,” which means the murder was preplanned and even if he was under the influence of alcohol, he wanted to kill Sakshi.

Reports have claimed that the duo were in an alleged relationship. However, it has come to light that the accused, Sahil, posed as a Hindu Sunny to trap the minor and lure her into a relationship with him. Pictures of him wearing Kalawa and Rudraksha chains are going viral on social media.

It has been reported that ever since the victim found out about his true identity that he is a Muslim, she started distancing herself, triggering the accused, who stabbed and butchered her to death.

Sahil was upset over the victim’s decision to end their relationship. He was angry because the two had stopped talking to each other, which eventually led him to brutally attack and kill her, according to a preliminary probe.
