Union Home Minister Amit Shah on June 23 said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will form the Government in 2024 by securing over 300 seats and becoming the Prime Minister again.
Addressing a public meeting in Jammu, Amit Shah said, “No matter how many parties come for the meeting, they can never unite”. “Today a photo session is underway in Patna. They (the Opposition) want to challenge Prime Minister Narendra Modi and NDA. I want to tell them that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will form his Government in the 2024 Lok Sabha Polls with more than 300 seats,” Amit Shah, who arrived in Jammu on a two-day visit today, said.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah was received by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha and Union Minister Jitendra Singh at the Jammu airport.
The Union Home Minister remembered the contributions of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerji on his death anniversary and recalled that Bengal is a part of India due to the late leader’s efforts.
“Today is ‘Balidan Divas’ of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerji, the whole country knows that it is because of him that Bengal is with India today. He opposed Article 370 in Jammu & Kashmir.
He had said that ‘Ek desh mein do Vidhan, do Pradhan aur do Nishan nahi chalega’,” Amit Shah said.
Appreciating the governance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah said that a new Kashmir is being built under the leadership of him.
In a period of nine years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made India the world’s fifth largest economy, which was earlier placed at the 11th place, he asserted.
“In Jammu & Kashmir, every citizen is being given free health insurance of Rs 5 lakh. A new Kashmir is being built under the leadership of PM Modi,” Amit Shah said.
Amit Shah inaugurated and lay the foundation stone for various projects. He laid the foundation stone of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Samba and handed over the Golden Health card to beneficiaries.
A meeting of Opposition leaders hosted by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar held in Patna on June 23 with the aim to forge a united Opposition front to take on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. More than 15 Opposition parties attended the meeting held at Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s official residence in Patna.
Leaders including AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, NCP chief Sharad Pawar, Delhi CM and AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Tamil Nadu CM M K Stalin are among the leaders attending the first high-level opposition meeting.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is one of the prominent faces missing from the meeting today.
Taking a swipe at the Opposition meet, Union Minister Smriti Irani, said that Congress has admitted that they cannot defeat Prime Minister Narendra Modi alone and that they need support from others to do so.
“I especially thank Congress for publicly announcing that they cannot alone defeat Prime Minister Narendra Modi and that they need the support of others to do so,” Smriti Irani said while addressing a press conference.
Union Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras, while speaking on the Opposition meeting that is currently being held in Patna, said: “There is no vacancy for the post of the PM in 2024. Opposition unity is a lie, it is just for photos. Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar fought against the Emergency imposed by the Congress but now they are joining hands with them.”
