In Indore, Madhya Pradesh, FIR has been registered against media organisations and social media users and groups, namely, News Nasha (Web Portal), Encounter (Web Portal), Janvichar Samvad (Facebook Group), Bhavika Kapoor and Anuj Yadav (Twitter Handle) and Piyush Ahir (Facebook Profile) for spreading fake news against Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

In Indore, a video has been going viral on social media for the last few days by some media organisations and individuals, in which it was claimed that the office bearers of RSS were running a spa centre and wrong activities were going on there. Based on this video, fake stories were being posted by some Facebook groups or media sites. However, the fact is that this video is not related to any volunteer of Sangh.

The video is related to other people. However, this was done to defame Sangh. The name of the owners of the Spa centre, which could be seen in the video, are not the office bearers of Sangh in Indore or Madhya Pradesh.

When this video went viral, the sentiments of volunteers in Indore were badly hurt. As a result, they filed FIR against them was registered.

In May, Indore police registered an FIR against 10 unidentified persons for allegedly distributing pamphlets containing objectionable material against the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and Bajrang Dal.

On April 8, 2022, a few anti-social elements, especially Islamists, took to social media to claim that the RSS is conspiring to ‘entrap’ Muslim women in India. The conspirators used a fake letter bearing the letterhead of the RSS, asking Hindu men to trick Muslim women into their love trap.

These fake copies of the letter were circulated by Islamist forces on social media, especially on Twitter, with the hashtag ‘Bhagwa_Love_Trap.’ The letter, falsely attributed to the RSS, also vowed to provide a 15-day training programme to help teach Hindus to entrap Muslim women. According to the OSINT handle, ‘D-Intent Data’ reported by OP India, AIMIM supporter Shahavaj Anjum Siddiquee was the first to post the screenshots of the fake letter.

In February, Dr Ashok Dubey, Prant Prachar Pramukh of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Awadh Prant, filed a complaint against three prominent newspapers for spreading fake news about the RSS at Hajratganj police station, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
