On May 28 in the evening hours at Rohini’s Shahbad Dairy area a 16-year-old girl was brutally stabbed more than 20 times by her jilted lover right outside her home. The murder has been captured on CCTV.

The police have identified the victim and the culprit. The name of the accused is Sahil, and he is an AC and refrigerator mechanic. The culprit attacked the girl as she entered the house from the street and repeatedly stabbed her. A senior police officer said, “Her body was found lying on the road in a pool of blood”.

The deceased and Sahil were allegedly in a relationship, but on May 27, they quarrelled. The police officer said, “They were were in a relationship, but yesterday they had a quarrel. The teen was planning to attend her friend Neetu’s son’s birthday. The boy followed her and stabbed her multiple times and hit her with stone”.

As per the preliminary findings of the post-mortem report, the girl was stabbed over 16 times by the accused. The act was done with such ferocity that even the knife got stuck in victim’s head at one point. As people passed, the accused began striking her with a large cement slab that was lying nearby. However, no one attempted to stop him.

Meanwhile, a complaint has been registered by the deceased’s father. The FIR is lodged under Section 302 of the IPC at the police station Shahabad. While acting on the complaint, the police arrested Sahil from Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr city.

While talking to the reporters, the victim’s mother demanded justice for her daughter and wanted a death sentence for the culprit. The Special Commissioner of Police Deependra Pathak said, “Delhi is a metropolitan city that has anonymity, but relations matter in society. If we notice such incidents, we must intervene to the best of our ability and dissuade an assailant from committing such crimes. Such interventions would contain a crime and save a life”.

The BJP leader Kapil Mishra reacted to the murder and tweeted, “This painful murder is happening in Delhi. Another minor Hindu girl was crushed to death. Accused Sahil is the son of Sarfaraz. How many Kerala stories in Delhi’s bylanes? Shraddha has not yet got justice and don’t know how many more Shraddhas are becoming victims of this brutality every day.”

Notably, on May 18, 2022, Shraddha was murdered by Aftab Poonawala. Later after killing her, he bought one saw, three blades, a hammer and plastic clips to cut her body parts and dispose of them. He shifted the body to the bathroom and cut the body into 17 pieces. On the first day, he cut her wrist and hand. He used to dispose of the body parts one by one. The police charge sheet said that Aftab sat on Shraddha’s chest and strangled her to death. He then chopped her body into pieces and stored them in the kitchen and fridge.
