Chief Minister of Manipur, N Biren Singh, on April 24, laid the foundation stone for a luxury 5-Star Hotel developed under Public–private partnerships (PPP) model at Hotel Imphal.

The foundation laying ceremony was attended by state cabinet ministers Sushildro Leishangthem, Nemcha Kipgen, and Yumnam Khemchand, along with the Proprietor of the Classic Hotel Thangjam Dabli, MLA Thangjam Arun, MLA RK Imo and MLA T Shanti.

The Classic Group of Hotels will manage the forthcoming 5-star Hotels. The luxury hotel will have 80 keys, State-of-the-Art Multi-Cuisine, Restaurant- upper and lower levels, Pub and clubhouse, VIP Club Lounge, a Swimming pool, SPA & Saloon, a Fitness center, an Art gallery, a 500+capacity Banquet Hall, an Open Lawn Banquet hall, Auditorium, Water Fountains, Multi-storey car parking, Double height Lobby, High-speed lift, Hi-end and others sophisticated facilities.

CM wrote on his Facebook page, “Pleased to lay the foundation stone for a luxury 5-Star Hotel developed under PPP mode at Hotel Imphal, Kabo Leikai today”.

With more such world-class accommodation facilities, the ecotourism sector in the state will be given a significant boost.”

He further wrote that Manipur is already emerging as a top destination in the Northeast in terms of attracting the most foreign tourists.”

Manipur Public Health and Engineering department (PHED) Minister Sushildro Laishangthem taking on his Facebook account, wrote, “Elated to attend the foundation stone-laying ceremony for a luxury 5-Star Hotel today at the Sangai Conference Hall of the Hotel Imphal by the Classic.”

He said it is appropriate that such luxury hotels be built to accommodate the massive influx of tourists from throughout the country and the world that our state has seen in recent years.
“This will also lead to creating jobs and an increase in income.

I hope the Grand Luxury 5-Star Hotel project succeeds.” said the Minister.
